Simple reason: people are fickle.

The whole girst few weeks people were calling for Freddie to stand up against Lisa's gang, and now he finally has he's suddenly the devil?!

Of course befriending bitchy Bea certainly didn't help anything.
But that's the whole problem I have with it.... why finally stand up to her and in such an overt manner? He'd already taken his stand and won over me and basically everyone else with his integrity and ability to maintain compassion and empathy for others.

The moral battle was over and he had one hands down. Lisa was finished.... so why now this madness? It flies in the face of everything he stood for and built for himself in the earlier weeks and he has basically turned into the manipulator and bully of the house because of his perceived power now. He's lost the head completely.
So you're basically saying that Freddie is being a bad winner, and that is what has soured people? Because frankly I don't see it. Lisa's group may have diminished a little, but she's got David now, along with Charlie, and they're still giving Freddie some stick. Personally I don't think people should have to keep quiet about that, and let it happen, I respect Freddie for standing up for himself.
You honestly think that they've been having pops at Freddie all the time? If you compare their behaviour to that of his within the last two weeks there's really no evidence to suggest that they've been the more calculated and scheming.
They have just reacted to the other groups plots and character assassinations.

Hey, I don't like Lisa, but I hate this defence of Freddie and his group now when they are quite obviously doing to David and Lisa exactly what was done to Freddie earlier in the show. The similarity is as plain as day here.
Freddie has only ever really been vocal when arguments have kicked off naturally. It's not like in the early days when Lisa's gang singled out Freddie and instigated arguments with him just to shout him down. Charlie was bang of of order last night.

I was rooting for him in the beginning..because he was humble and everyone was beeing mean at him...and I'm sure the public wanted to protect him like people want to protect a hurt puppy.

But now, he lost the "hurt puppy" image he had and I'm starting to dislike him very much. He has a way with him that is really disrespectful, Happened with lisa and Charlie, he puts the fakest laugh and a stupid face on in front of people's face. He is doing now what the people in the beginning were doing to him.

But sure he's doing the very thing that Karly and Kris were condemned for earlier on in the show- flying off the handle and involving himself in others arguments when he believes he has the support of the majority. It echos so much of what has happened before in the show.

I'd hardly call it exactly the same. Freddie only mouths off in arguments, which is different from purposely approaching someone to start an argument, which is what Kris and Karly and Lisa did in the first few weeks.

Lisa approached him but usually Karly and Kris just reacted to him.

There's definitely similarities though and a marked change in Freddies character and demeanour over the last 2 weeks. No denying that and it's terrible to see....

He never reacted so crazily earlier on and with such careless abandon and obvious lack of empathy with others. Where's his humilty and integrity gone?

While I will agree that he has started to act differently, a little cocky maybe, I really believe that is just a front to keep Lisa off his back. He's almost certainly using the "the public loves me" stuff to try get Lisa to lose a little of that cock sure confidence she's always held over Freddie. And he only uses it in arguments, he doesn't purposely start arguments with it, or use it as a general bragging tool. I'm just baffled by such a drastic public opinion change. I'd expect him to maybe lose a few supporters, but he seems to have lost nearly all of them!

He hasn't helped himself at all in the last 2 weeks. Sure Lisa had disappeared really at this stage... she knew her number was up. Freddie's paranoia and need to win have kept her in this show.

He doesn't only use his cockiness and self assured manner in arguments. Watch him when he talks with others- he truly believes in everything he says.... he's not helped by Bea that's for sure but I honestly think he's exposed a part of himself that we were never privy to earlier on.

Half-wit is not a wanker. I think he is simply eccentric is some of his mannerisms. Of course, he's sticking up for Bea as he fancies her. Charlie instigated this hate Freddie campaign by being a blabber mouth. He apologised to Freddie afterwards but the damage was done.

I still like Halfwit and until I see otherwise I will continue to support him.
