Tu vis à Montréal ? Enfin quelqu'un d'autre qui parle Français courrament, je me sentais seul ici. Bref, ne fais pas attention à ça, ce sont juste les nouveaux qui ne savent pas trop comment marche le forum. Une fois que BB sera terminé, la plupart quittera le forum donc t'inquiète pas.

I dont care much aslong as it can be understood. Always taken it for given though that non-native speakers always have a better control over the ENglish language then us do.

Hey, pick a language... someone will answer.

Es ist falsch, zu denken, dass jeder in Großbritannien das selbe ist.

I think it's funny when people confuse the words "then" and "than". I mean, how can you confuse those? You learn those words when you are 4 years old. It's really pathetic.

No capital 'E' for English? And you are a little hazy on the apostrophe for someone who's being so critical.

We all have different skills. I bet some of the people on here who make themselves understood without having perfect literacy can do lots of other things that you can't. So please... don't refer to people as idiots. It makes it seem like you're trying to make yourself look better. And you're not.
It's extremely debatable whether you should be starting a sentence with a cojunction.

hmmm...though i just posted to say this is not an English grammar forum I feel compelled to inform you there is no grammatical rule that says you can't start a sentence with conjunction.

you can start a sentence with a conjunction no problem.

You're right. You can take all sorts of liberties with language and it's acceptable. I just thought it was funny someone had taken the trouble to show how clever they were, then completely misspell the word. I'm with you on the fact that this is a forum, not a classroom. There is no entrance test for people to be able to air their views.

prole, my post wasn't directed at yourself, apologies and etc, it was aimed at Delta and their nonsense re sentences and conjunctions. There is no such grammatical rule. And in fact, conjunction fronted sentences are quite common in 'sophisticated' texts; both academic and prose.

Incidently the whole confusion re - sentences cant begin with conjunctions is started in primary schools by teachers who either

a) dont have a full understanding of grammar themselves

or

b) because the teacher is trying to get pupils to construct more complex sentences using conjunctions.

now i sound like some kind of strung out grammar freak....

I don't mind spelling mistakes and a lack of grammer but I'm not very well up on text talk and sometimes can't understand what is being said. PLEASE STOP USING TEXT TALK ON THE FORUM!!
