The invasion of Iraq was a long time in the pipeline, (pun intended). The US told its allies before 9/11 of their plans. The Taleban were frustrating the US's plans to build a pipeline to connect oil to Asia. The War on Terror is a lie:

Quote:
Regarding the placement of the Unocal Pipeline, a US Official delivered this ultimatum to the Taliban (via the Pakistani delegation acting as their interlocutors): "Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs." (Ref: Jean-Charles Brisard and Guillaume Dasquie in "Forbidden Truth" (31) (Book's Preface online-pdf format (32) )

Do people still believe in the concept of a war of terror? Good grief. Wake up, you are being brainwashed. The 'war on terror' is a non stop scare scenario designed to get you to give up your rights one at a time. How exactly could a war on terror actually exist? Did we just let terrorists run amok before the war of terror? When the war of terror ends, are they going to all walk free and continue to blow **** up because the war on them is over?

That said, not all soldiers agree with the flow, like Henessy said.

Fighting for our 'freedom'? Since when were our 'freedoms' under threat? Is an Islamist extremist militia going to bust in tonight and stop me from watching Big Brother?

Do you realise that more freedoms have actually been restricted [check it, it's a fact] in the western world than created or preserved since the 'war on terror' began? And you call others loosers?

John Major made a momentous statement on NI when he said Britain had no strategic interest there. Problem solved. The reason there is a war on terror in Afghanistan is because the US has very definite strategic aims and interests there - oil!

Nonsense!

It's not a war on terror, that's a by-product, a symptom - not the cause.

Exactly. Continued occupation from richer foreign forces. Of course the ten year olds on the streets of Afghanistan are going to grow up learning to shoot AK-47's in open American shopping malls FFS.

It's called Divide and Conquer, and they've been doing it for years, in Iran, Iraq, Saudi, Afghanistan, etc.

And then they want to take those countries most valueable natural resource! On top of that, America used to sell many of these countries their weapons. During the Gulf War the Americans were basically going to war with their old equipment!

You can be sure whoever America is selling arms to these days will be getting the **** bombed out of them in a few years.

Hasn't Vinnie's son just joined up? So he's no excuse for not knowing what he's getting himself into. Sheds a lot of light on what kind of father he must have and what attitudes prevail in their household.
