I wonder if Becky is going to drop out of school when this is over. If her fellow drama students are even half as backstabbing and conniving as the ones I have to interact with through the year, she's done nothing so far these past few weeks but give them buckets full of ammo to use against her. She's dramatic, but a bad actress. She's too ignorant to understand the subtext that's going on around her most of the time, and too lazy to do any more than she has to for anything. If she keeps this up, all she's going to have by the time she's done is an extensive resume as prop mistress.

Yeah, she doesn't really make a convincing drama student to me either. If I didn't know what she did, going by the way she speaks and acts I'd think she worked in Tesco's or something.

Since the age of 8, none of my education has involved any history, I'm not into history programmes or books yet even I know that hitler was Austrian, not German and who he was. She is stupid to think anyone will fall for that act

This is a big brother forum not the history channel. Becky is 19 of course she knows who hitler was she probably didn't want to bore herself and others talking about it. I have children and I look to the future not the past and I couldn't care less about an evil racist pussy of a man who committed suicide because the English destroyed him

History was taught in a dull and unengaging way when I was in school, and I hear things are not improving ... If I was at school, bearing in mind the economy we live in, I think I would be focusing only on what I considered to be relevant to my future, and leave subjects like history and literature for when I had the time and inclination to spare on them.

i think it might be important to know about the major events in history and how they came about. especially when you have children and want them to live in a relatively free and safe environment when they grow up. knowing about hitler and his propaganda might actually be beneficial in our day and age, just look over the pond to the big US of A and how theyre using it right now. its very similar.

if you dont recognise whats going on, you cant do anything about it. and its easier to recognise something when youve heard of it before.

having said that, i agree with previous posters, i dont think theyre actually that ignorant. i think 60% of it is playing up to the cameras. at least i really hope so lol

Erm, missing the point just like Becky did.

She made out it wasn't important. Not that she didn't want to talk about it, but she didn't really know about it because she wasn't interested. It's not about caring about Hitler, it's important to remember these events.

Feel sorry for your children being raised in total ignorance.

That's not really the point. It's not about having a keen interest in history, but being aware of VERY big and important times in human history. The holocaust falls into that.
