She's like every other girl on the planet with moderate to low self-esteem. She is frightened Luke S is using her becuase he is SOO far out of her league. Hence she tries to distance herself occasionally. When she says 'we have nothing in common' she knows something is wrong, the facts don't add up. She just can't help herself though as attraction is not a choice and she can't resist him for very long.

Luke S looks pretty bored half the time when she is talking to him and he is capable of getting WAY hotter than her. Personally I am perplexed why he didn't end up with Lauren who is hotter, more fun AND more intelligent than Ashleigh. Maybe that last bit is the problem.

Asking "what if their relationship is real" is an exercise in futility. You can pose the counterfactual but it won't lead to any real insights as their relationship is fake as Becky's put-on persona.

He does seem narcissistic, she might be on to something there.
