we don't know yet for certain, but considering he is a cop killer, with a specific intention to kill cops, i'd say that the cops have no reason to lie. I believe them.

Simple, He was trying to make a escape. Sniper caught him sneaking out a window and shot him.

As for the shooting incident (I have no idea what you mean by second), the first one made sense because it happened a bit after the guy went on his vendetta against LAPD. The police themselves were on edge and they thought it was his car so they shot at it.

probably because the cops thought he might be watching CNN, and they didn't want to give him any advantage by being able to watch what they were doing? SO the cops probably asked the media to stop covering it live while they approached the cabin. It seems like a reasonable thing to do.
