I don't get it what did the comedian in question do that's illegal wasn't the boy 18?

I don't think they're saying that having a relationship was illegal are they?

From what I've gathered he just took advantage of a naive person, got him involved in some illegal activities (drugs etc), treated him appallingly resulting in his suicide.

But I could be wrong. Of course the Daily Mail are using it to emphasise the gay angle.

I'm a bit unclear about this whole thing. Someone was treated badly and committed suicide. The fact that the person who treated them badly was famous means... what? It means that their career can be ended by the media in a way that would never happen if he was, say, a banker or a dustman. If he wasn't famous, I wonder if the word "groomed" would have been used, with or without inverted commas.

I think it's more than that, Livia. Something serious must have happened for the boy to feel suicidial.

How do you know that though? People are filling in the gaps in the story with their own imagination. And once again I ask, would it be in the media if the person involved wasn't famous, and why is the word "grooming" being used.
