People acting like HMs don't step up when others leave. It's the same thingn every series. It's assumed the series is done and all of a sudden there is a new hate figure and storyline and someone new steps up.

That isn't true at all, we get this argument every year as a defence for evicting divisive characters. 'Other housemates will step up, we'll be able to see them' and then 95% of them we get to see them and they're sh*te...just as they were before
When Sam, John James, Corin and Steve (lol) were evicted from BB11, people like JJ, Andrew and Mario didn't suddenly turn into wondrous bastions of entertainment. Those four or so episodes before the finale were some of the most painfully dull in BBUK history. When Charley and Chanelle left BB8, people like Kara-Louise didn't suddenly go into full on meltdown mode and get us all talking. When Sallie, Dan, Wolfy were evicted last year, Sam didn't finally start setting the world alight (granted BB14 managed to survive with the departures of some bigger characters because Dexter and Gina stayed around, but we got lucky) It's basically an argument that we should gamble~ the housemates that are actually providing the discussions in favour of some other housemates that you never know~ might just step up and do the same after they've left. Why go out for burgers when you've got steak at home? |

and anyways since this discussion point bull**** is coming up again, I'll give my two cents since when do I not? "Drama" in and of itself is not entertaining. The drama in question here is really just Toya screaming at someone. Drama needs to be in conjunction with something else (physical humor, righteousness, wit, etc) to provide any worthwhile talking points (**** THAT PHRASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD) and Toya is dearly lacking in that department

BB11 isn't a good enough argument, it was the final couple of days. The final week or so is always quieter, the housemates are exhausted and can see the light at the end of the tunnel and are all ready to go home so aren't interested in starting up anything or having meltdowns.
Name me one series with an explosive final week? Even BB6 had a quiet last few days. Last edited by Marsh.; 19-06-2014 at 04:04 PM. |

Most people don't like watching a show that is centered around a few women bitching constantly, which is why they always get evicted early on. I don't know why people are surprised and try to fight it every year when it is inevitable. Dislikable people are going to be evicted, and that is exactly what Toya, Helen, and Pauline are.

BB14 is a perfect example of a series starting out amazingly and going astonishingly downhill after losing its large characters. it descended into the most boring second half of a series I have ever had the misfortune of watching, nothing remotely interesting about showmances and love triangles. the forum was exactly the same last year as it is this year with its vocal hate for Sallie/Dan/Wolfy/Jemima.
It's SO frustrating for us hardcore fans who so desperately want the show to reach the level of quality it had in its good days. BB5/6/7 are only good because of their divides and conflicts and Toya/Pauline/Helen type characters as I've said many many times before. ash/marlon and co will never ever ever ever ever give us that kind of show. come on you surely don't believe there is an iota of interest about them. |

I can understand the Pauline hate but that's for another thread
But Toya brings the entertainment. I simply am not watching Ash, Marlon and Winston sitting around seemingly picking people off - they are no Victor. #SaveToya

Why respond to me if you don't want me to respond back? You literally just had a go at me the other day for doing exactly what you've just done now.
