As an Indian man living in the UK I am ashamed that my people are so blind to what is really going on in that house, and utterly dumbfounded that British are being so blind as well.

Princess, in the east end of London is a term of endearment, always has been & Jade's family are most certainly east end.

When Jackiey first called her 'princess' there was someone else in the room, cannot remember who, who said she was a princess, I think it was Ken. |

I think you'll find the first time they got really nasty about her was the time Danielle referred to her as a 'dog' and Danielle was definately the one being the most verbal and most nasty. |

so if she is so endered why would she say that indian, why didnt see say princess as she is soooo endered
and who would ask a question like that, if she lives in the slums. that aint even dumb, thats just too obvious, thats when the racism issue exploded |

But yes, it can be a term of endearment. And might have been taken that way if Jackiey had been at all polite to her, and hadn't made such a fuss about saying her name first. As it was, it seemed like the final straw. Remember Jackiey was also so rude as to refer to her as 'the Indian' - it's not hard to see that Shilpa picked up on her underlying disrespect. |

Rewind your tapes, Shilpa was the first to be intentionally rude, Jades mum is just not very bright, which is not a crime . . . or racist!

I think 'The Indian' is very demeaning though. It's not like it's a difficult name to say, Shilpa. Two syllables.
Anyway, this racism debate is all a bit irrelevant in the sense a lot of people agree that Jade and co have been horrible and bullies to Shilpa even before the question of racism is considered. |

She tried to call her by her name, got put down for it. Tried to call her Princess, got put down for it, so she called her the Indian. If someone at work doesn't know my name or how to pronounce it, I see no offence in them calling me the Indian in conversation. It's not like she was talking to Sherpa, as in, Hey you Indian!

Shilpa put up with the patronizing name 'princess' for days, up until Jackey started coming out with the disgusting racist filth and offensive attitude. Only then, did Shilpa stick up for herself.
It seems we're getting a wave of opinions who didnt watch this show from the beginning. |

This won't go down well, but I think Shilpa's manner and attitude was awful right from the start.

My name is traditionally an Irish surname... not very difficult at all, I come accross people that are able to say it and also come across a few who can't... I don't get angry at them for not being able to pronounce it... some people find it hard after I try to tell them several times so I say just call me 'T'...
I have a good friend who still pronounces it slightly incorrect but I in no way see it as an insult. |

Its Jades entrance thats appalling.
She walked in that house like she owned the place. She was a newcomer, and should have introduced herself properly rather than wait for people to come to her like shes some sort of queen. The horrible little brat. |

And at one point Jade was about to leave it but Shilpa denied the point that she lied. But saying that, I'm pretty sure Shilpa had some vent up anger in their which contributed to the situation. |
