To be honest, if someone irritates any of us we are likely to need to vent those feelings. I really don't think anyone could honestly say they've never moaned about someone's behaviour behind their backs at some point, because we all need the opportunity to get things of our chest and it's better that way than letting feelings build up inside until they explode and cause a massive confrontation.

Marco is loud, hyperactive and irritating - sometimes people want a bit of time to chill, and the last thing they need is someone like that bouncing around noisily when they want a bit of time out. Hence, they understandably walk away.

A couple of them also suggested they were uncomfortable with him invading their personal space and being too touchy feely - Marco seems to lack basic social skills and has difficulty reading or recognising the non verbal clues others give off.

To top it all they've seen him being aggressive and heard him threatening to use violence towards a security guard. Put all this together and you have someone that others are going to start feeling wary of as it makes him exhausting and unpredictable.

Expressing their feelings to those they trust is not bullying or ostracising.

He isn't the only one who has behaved aggressively in there. But no question he will be isolated, they always need a scapegoat in there.

No, he isn't the only one who has been aggressive, I totally agree, but that wasn't the only thing i mentioned - but be objective and put all of his characteristics together and it is understandable why others are venting and moving away. This isn't about bullying or ostracising, it's about getting a bit of peace and respite for a short time, and there are plenty of other people he could be spending time with.

He needs to take responsibility for his own behaviour and learn to be more socially aware. If people started moaning about me, or wanting space from me, I would actually be taking a good look at myself and trying to address the reason it was happening. Marco doesn't recognise or respect anyone else's needs, and that's the problem here.

I disagree with your first comment- the exact reason why they are moaning about him and moving away is because he's bothering them!

I think the aggression he has displayed makes people wary of telling him because he is unpredictable, and they are unsure of how he will react.

Discussing our feelings with others, is a way of understanding them before we feel able to express them sometimes. And sometimes we need a bit of time and thinking things through so that when we do tell someone it can be expressed in a tactful and sensitive way. Maybe that's what's happening here?
