You don't necessarily have to be fully nice to be considered a hero. It obviously has to be a part of it but many of the public saw Ashleigh as the foil to Helen and therefore the hero against her, in spite of Helen winning. It's the same way Science would be seen as the hero against Maxwell or Aisleyne against Grace, and the same is with Ashleigh vs Helen

That's what I detested at the time and completely disagreed with. She was no hero against Helen in any way shape or form. LET ME TELL YOU NOW LADY!
Sulking in the treehouse with her foul sunglasses, a force against Helen she aint. |

I don't get the Jason villain ones. He did nothing wrong at all. He just happened to be the fastest on the buzzer and evicted a popular HM (in the house).

The same as how heroes don't have to be nice people, villains don't have to be mean people either. Most of us put Jason because he was commonly vilified by his fellow housemates in the second half of the series and of the people who lasted long in BB17 he brought the most controversy. If you said villain in terms of who meanest person is then Natalie would be a definite pick, but she wouldn't be usually picked since she caused very little results to happen that harmed others in the long run. It's the same reason I put Noirin, an okay person, as the main villain of BB10 over Bea who's only just a spiteful person and the same applies to picking Jason over Natalie.
