Even that says it takes a couple of years and is talking about iPhones which have notoriously poor battery lifespan.

I'm not saying it isn't bad for the battery; it is, eventually, but the sad fact is we live in a wasteful world of ever-advancing tech and the vast majority of people get a new phone every 24 months when their contract is up. You're not going to get a significant drop in battery life in 2 years with most modern smartphones.

yeah i never have a phone longer than a year or 2 so its just not an issue, but it could be if you keep it for longer

Mine is left switched on, charging at the other side of the room as I use it for my alarm to get me up for work, since it’s on the other side of the room it forces me to get up to switch it off.
