To me it seems like they are making a big deal out of gays. (Have I said it right)

They write an article saying Oh big wow, big brother is going to have loads of gays on, then its confusing when we arnt allowed to call them gays because its the daily star thats started the conversation.

The title of this thread says:- "There maybe 7 gays going in"

If you or I or anyone else on the forum says the word "Gays", then it is perfectly okay. (it's in the thread title)

Some people do take offence when someone places the word "The" before the word "Gays", but some don't mind.

I would have rather debated the topic title and done it in a nice fashion, but instead, it went into the usual spiraling downwards into oblivion. Anyway, don't ever be concerned and this is a friendly & serious forum, where we chat & debate. Don't let yourself get be-littled either. Fight onwards.

The Daily Star Newspaper has printed this story and it has been mentioned again in this thread and it is always a possibility, like anything.

I personally don't want it to happen, like I have said previously.

I would welcome any Gay person to enter the house, even if there was 1, 2 or 3 but personally, I don't like the idea which has been printed.

There is no hidden reason and I have nothing against any Gay person, but it is my own choice for Big Brother 8

I dont watch bb for the relationships so i dont care if they are gay or staight, but if they are gonna run around screaming like little girls im gonna stop watching. Because its just annoying.

I know for a fact alot of gay people are not as camp as most people like too think, and sometimes you cant tell if they are gay or straight. If they are straight acting i aint bothered. But 7 camp gays in one house is just a no no. And im not insulting gays at all, half of my mates are gay and i think they are great but im not keen on the camp ones... i dont see the point.

Its a bit confusing but its OK. I sometimes buy the daily star when they have big brother stories in so its always good for that but sometimes its confusing about what the stories are about and why they make such a fuss over things. Like we've been saying in this thread how you cant call people gays or things like that but if the dailty star are making a story on it, from my point of view they are doing jusdt the same thing as we are doing. If people get offended by it they shouldnt really do it but i dont know who can stop them. Personally, Im not offended by it.

Im not bothered how many gays go in big brother but I think everybody should get a chance, not just the gays who will make good televisions, but im sure they are nice people.

You wouldn't be offended because you are not gay! Some gay men take offence when being refered to as 'the gays' because it's like sticking them all in a box. It;s just like saying, "Right, your all the same and in one group!" and that isn't right.

I don't really understand why you cannot understand it? I guess you need to grow up a bit then you will get it...

Personally, being refered to as 'the gays' doesn't bother me, but because it bothers some people, why still say it?

Just think about it from our point of view. If someone was calling you something that offended you, and they kept doing it, how would you feel?

I've never spoken to a gay person and am from a very much straight white area so cant relate to people who are slightly "different". That doesn't mean I don't like these type of people, I just think Big Brother try and please too many people with their selections of housemates and unfortunately this will be even more evident after Celeb BB. I'm sorry but people who say - Oh but there are loads of gays/different ethnic groups in this country these days, are usually from London. But judging by our area, a ratio of 7 gays:14 overall people (50%) is absolutely rediculous.
