so bored of seeing this complaint.Last night the only noticeable "neighbour trade-offs" that made no sense since everyone else rated them averagely were: - Greece/Cyprus - Slovenia/Czech Republic - and San Marino/Italy Also, Australia have been in the top 10 every time since competing (I think). Where're the neighbours?

we send rubbish, like last night, we dont understand what it takes to win and think that sending kids singing lyrics they neither understand or believe in will do well
fundamentally we dont get it anymore, sadly a good song will always beat the nepotism and border cheatery |

There's three things we need to fix for next year's Eurovision.
1. Stop making songs about love, peace and harmony, nearly every UK entry is about this and it's getting really boring and predictable, we need to send a new message in our entries. 2. The song actually having a beat to it, even ballads can have a catchy beat, but the UK seems to favour minimal beat. 3. Spend more money on the staging, our performances every year on Eurovision always look so barren, I mean that poor Michael Rice last night was given no staging whatsoever. Also as a preference I'd like us to play on our Rock and Indie circuits more often as we're actually good at it.

Stop sending Danish rejects and actually get decent song writing camps involved with singers that have creative input. Did Michael Rice really believe it was bigger than us? Likely not.

The format Malta went with this year really worked and UK should follow it, have the prize for the winner of all together now/any new show they have (Malta had their X Factor) then go off with them and find the right song for them

Stop sending English acts because it clearly isn't working for them

We should try like a Bollywood themed entry, we have a massive Asian community so we couldn't be accused of using another countries tradition for no reason

Remembering Kerry

I'd hate the UK not to take part.
We'll be in nothing soon if we keep running off because we don't get what we want. The Netherlands have had to wait 44 years to win it again. They worked hard, put a lot of effort and thought in it and came up with success. Honestly, Michael sang well but being honest, not as good as when he won selection as this years entrant. Also, while I like the song, the UK performance was rather dull really. It seems the UK has lost the knack of tapping into winning songs. Michael didn't deserve last place but neither a top half place either on the night. Alongside most of the other performances it just came across an average entry, not extra special. Not many, however we got votes from Norway, Hungary, Belarus,Armenia, Georgia and Switzerland. If we had a song that appealed stronger and got higher votes from those Countries then a few votes from others then we could find new success here. The main thing is, we need to get a good act, a good song and get the song known around Europe before the contest too. Which may bring in higher public votes too. For a Nation renowned for pop music for decades, we seem to reserve a half hearted attempt year on year as to Eurovision. Last edited by joeysteele; 19-05-2019 at 06:55 PM. |

I suggest either:
-We send in a song in another one of our recognised languages (i.e. Scottish or Welsh) in order to stand out as it would not be expected for a predominantly English speaking country to send something in another language. -Or, just split the United Kingdom up in Eurovision altogether, and instead have England, Scotland and Wales participate separately. Wales participated in The Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year and the Eurovision Choir Contest in 2017 and is returning to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year, with Scotland set to be participating in the Eurovision Choir Contest this year.
