Because he is arrogant and boastful. The sexiest male three years in a row he has mentioned several times. I watched Eastenders for years and to be honest he is not that great an actor. I could never warm to him. I am probably in the minority but when I saw that he was going in there I said 'Not that plonker' Each to their own though
