Hill was suspended from the Labour Party
in September 2019 over allegations of
sexual harassment,
but reinstated in October 2019.
In January 2020, his request for anonymity
was turned down in an upcoming employment
tribunal related to the accusations.
The alleged victim stated that she had
also made a report to the Metropolitan Police
at the time of the original accusations.

On 16 March 2021,
Hill announced his resignation with immediate effect
and was appointed Crown Steward
and Bailiff of the Chiltern Hundreds,
which is the procedure whereby a
UK MP—who cannot actually resign—voluntarily leaves office.
This was after the Independent Expert Panel (IEP)
had found that Hill breached
Parliament's sexual misconduct policy.

In the resulting by-election,

The sexual misconduct claims were

Central London Employment Tribunal
in May 2021.
The claimant alleged that Hill used
a staffing review as a pretext for
making her redundant after she had
rejected his sexual advances.
In July 2021, the tribunal in delivering
its decision held that
Hill had assaulted, harassed,
and victimised a parliamentary worker
and it upheld claims of "detrimental treatment".
In May 2022, an employment tribunal ordered
Hill to pay £434,435

Chris Pincher, who was suspended as a Conservative MP after being accused of groping two men, has said he is seeking "professional medical support".

In a statement, the Tamworth MP said he was "truly sorry for the upset I caused" and would co-operate fully with an inquiry into his behaviour.

He also said he "respected" Boris Johnson's decision to suspend him.

Mr Pincher quit as Tory deputy chief whip on Thursday, saying he had "drunk far too much" the previous evening.

He was suspended as a Conservative MP a day later after being reported to Parliament's behaviour watchdog.

Witnesses told the BBC he had been seen "extremely drunk" at the Carlton Club, the Conservative Party members' club, in London.

Mr Pincher said: "As I told the prime minister, I drank far too much on Wednesday night, embarrassing myself and others, and I am truly sorry for the upset I caused.

"The stresses of the last few days, coming on top of those over the last several months, have made me accept that I will benefit from professional medical support.

"I am in the process of seeking that now, and I hope to be able to return to my constituency duties as soon as possible."

Six new claims of inappropriate behaviour by former Conservative deputy chief whip Chris Pincher have emerged, days after he was suspended from the party for allegedly groping two men.

The allegations stretch back more than a decade.

Mr Pincher - who represents Tamworth in Staffordshire - says he is seeking professional medical support and has no intention of resigning as an MP.

He did not respond to the BBC but denied the allegations to newspapers.

The allegations reported in the Independent, the Mail on Sunday and the Sunday Times include three cases where it is alleged Mr Pincher made unwanted advances to male MPs, including in a bar in parliament, and in his own parliamentary office.

No official complaints were ever made.

It is reported that one of the MPs contacted Downing Street in February with details of what he said had happened to him and voiced his concerns that Mr Pincher might be made a party whip, in charge of the discipline and welfare of other MPs.

No 10 did not tell the truth when it said the PM was unaware of official complaints about Chris Pincher's behaviour, an ex-civil servant in the Foreign Office has said.

Simon McDonald said Boris Johnson had been "briefed in person" about an investigation into Mr Pincher, then a Foreign Office minister.

The foreign secretary at the time, and now justice secretary, Dominic Raab, said everything had been "done by the book".

He told the BBC it was "factually incorrect" to say the PM had been briefed.

Mr Pincher, the MP for Tamworth, was suspended as a Conservative Party MP last week over allegations he groped two men at a private members' club in London. He says he is seeking professional medical support and has no intention of resigning as an MP.

On Monday, Downing Street said Mr Johnson was not aware of any specific allegations against Mr Pincher when he appointed him deputy chief whip.

However, later that day, the BBC found that the prime minister had been aware of a formal complaint about the MP.

And now, in a strongly-worded letter to the parliamentary standards commissioner, Sir Simon has disputed No 10's version of events.

Sir Simon, who was the Foreign Office's most senior civil servant from 2015 to 2020, said that in the summer of 2019, a group of officials had "complained to me about Mr Pincher's behaviour".

He said an investigation upheld the complaint adding that: "Mr Pincher apologised and promised not to repeat the inappropriate behaviour."

"Mr Johnson was briefed in person about the initiation and outcome of the investigation," he added.

Speaking to the BBC's Today programme, Mr Raab said: "I have discussed this with the prime minister over the last 24 hours, it is not my understanding that he was directly briefed."

"In relation to the 2019 allegation or complaint, whilst there was inappropriate behaviour, it didn't trip the wire into disciplinary action," he said.

Appearing on the same programme shortly afterwards, Sir Simon defended his assertion saying: "I know that the senior official briefed the prime minister in person because that official told me that at the time."

"Such complaints about ministers are very rare, very sensitive, they are dealt with at the very top level and so I had the help and support of the Cabinet Office throughout the investigation."

He said Downing Street needed to "come clean" adding: "No 10 have had five full days to get the story correct and that has still not happened."
