Jail isn't an adequate punishment IMO. A great percentage go back to doing what they were in for when they are released.

Other threats are IMO better punishments.
But castration won't make robbers nicer, it's not like paedophiles, it's a completely different thing. Castration is not linked to robbers, your point does not make sense since the robbers still can rob.

Right, time to explain

Its a frequent figure of speech used over here especially in the north (at least the castrate bit is) and it wasn't intended to be taken literally

But anyway, with regards to the poster who suggested Kiz is getting hot-headded, I think she has remained rather calm considering the circumstances and I don't think people can fully appreciate the feeling of being robbed until it happens to you.

Lol sorry for the minsunderstanding, I couldn't see the point of talking about castration towards robbers lool

And I know what Kiz is feeling, it happened to me too, not as big as what happened to her (only jewerlies and TVs) You feel very stupid in that situation.

Jail is the only punishment for burglary. Its true that a great percentage shall reoffend and for those that do, there shall be a lovely cell waiting for them when they return. and they will get caught.

If you take the law into your own hands you shall more than likely make a mistake and get caught, then put away. Maybe you shall share the same prison, how ironic. Don't forget CCTV trails. A criminal has to get to the scene of the crime and then leave. Then you also have to bypass DNA. Also fingerprints.

I'm sorry to hear about the robbery Kiz and Red. Hopefully the *********s will be caught very soon and you'll be able to get your stuff back. If the buggers want a MacBook or a car etc. then they should work for it.

For the record we are insured up to the hilt!

As as for me remaning calm, thats gone out the window now.

In the cold heart of day, unless you have been burguled you have no clue on how it feels.

People have been in my house while my children are alseep!!!!!!! The have ruited thro our stuff and now I jump every time someone walks past my front garden.

Now thats its dark the fear has only increased!

Our kids are petrified!!!!!!!! They are having to sleep togther to feel secure.

I hope that retribution is forfilled and that the bastards who have invaded our house have the full force of justice brought down on their head

Being insured isn't the point. You shouldn't have to be insured from burglary because nobody should be doing it anyway!

I hope the kids (and you and the o.h) aren't too scared and I hope you begin to feel better in time

Oh Kiz, I was worried that you would feel worse as the evening set in. It is scary and insurance aside you need to feel safe in your own home dont you.

I will be thinking about you all tonight

still in shock really

no news on the cars. I think they will run them until the tank is empty then dump it.

Whats really weird is that I had a box on top of the bookcase which was filled with seal ornaments which I have collected since I was about 7. I had put them in this box. which used to contain wine in it. They have taken that too thinking it was a box of wine

Its the little things they take that you can never ever replace that makes me sad

Its good that your insurance should cover everything but it still cant replace the emotion that someone got inside your house.

I have to say. Id have been VERY surprised if they had not done something like that.

Given that, I'm sorry to say, I think it may have been kids who robbed you. I think a pro would have chopped it before getting rid. That makes it even more depressing.

The police said they were pro's, lets hope that we find the other car burnt out too. We're hoping it will as its the same people who nicked it

I am so so angry, plus I feel so insecure now. I am a nervous wreck

Why would someone nick a car then burnt it out? It gets crazier the more you think about it.

Its a big car..... they do over other houses. They would have used it last night to do more houses then burn out the car because the grease from the finger prints cant be traced if its tourched
