The countdown adverts started at "18 days" during BB6. If that's the case this year, they'll be on in just over 2 weeks.

I think they should start at 18 days, to build the hype and maybe even have cross-channel advertising.

Yeah, I thought that was too late really, it should be at least 2 weeks before the launch.

I hope they do a 14 day countdown ad, so everyone knows 2 weeks in advance.

if channel 4 want to boost thier ratings they really need to start expanding thier ads to busses, billboards, magazines and other tv channels and networks, they did this for BB7 and in my opinion that was the best series.. we can only hope they do this for BB9

I agree, the BB7 advertising great, the show was even advertised on Kit Kat wrappers. I want the countdown adverts to start much earlier this year maybe at 20 days. If BB9 is going to be a success the advertising needs to be really stepped up.

Apparently the advertising campaign will be BIG this year. So I expect lots of promotion on TV, radio, perhaps even billboards.

I expect a huge advertising campaign too. The best advertising so far was definetly BB5 with 'Black Friday'. If BB9 does evolve to a new era of the show just like BB5 then the advertising should be pretty similar - maybe even more considering the ratings from BB8 and BB:CH (even though that wasn't expeceted to have any but still got slated for it ) But having said that the huge 'Black Friday' tied in with the last ever episode of 'Friends' so that could have been the reason for the huge advertising and consequently the big success. This year, apart from possibly the return of 'Ugly Betty' - I can't think of anything that they could make an event out of like they did with 'Black Friday'. If it wasn't for the last episode of 'Friends' I don't know if the BB5 advertising would have been so big - maybe it was just a gimic. That is the only reason why I could see the advertising not being that big for Big Brother 9 - they have no 'Black Friday' to use.

i liked it on launch when davina used to show the auditionees and behind the scenes before the house tour rather than last year when she got right into it...
