2 points are on the board for you to answer.
#1 CBI credibility ( "well valid" was funny but didn't cut it)
# 2 The part deregulation played in the financial meltdown and whether a conservative governments policy of greater financial freedom for banks would have led to even greater losses. Losses that UK taxpayers now have to pay.

They are not in Power at this time
so you can make up anything you want.

And Billions wasted on New Labour ID Cards
is very topical in the UK.

With the Torries it would have been worse because what screwed us was how deregulated the banking system was. This belief in "the market" sorting it out seems a joke when they come asking for cash from the state. Under the Torries the Banks would have had next to no regulation and would have gotten into greater trouble. Australia has a highly regulated Banking system and since the crisis 4 out of the top 15 Banks in the world are now Aussie banks. Before that they were ranked between 50 -100th. Government regulation didn't allow them to get too greedy and make stupid financial choices. Had the torriesb een in power this would have been so much worse for the UK.
yeh exactly...The Tories practically stand for de-regulation/no state intervention in business. Thatcher bloody started it! I'd like to see state intervention/regulation with the banks, gas/electric, water companies, transport. Lets hope something positive comes out of this recession!

I'm NOT making up anything ... it's there public held policy...lol.. whether they are in power or not they still have a policy don't they? OMG

Dude it's one of the main philosophical differences between the left and the right. You really are not up to speed with any of this are you. It's "small government", "small tax" " low regulation" of the right versus "larger government", "larger tax/ larger community spending" "greater regulation" of labour. Have you been living under a rock.... it's been like that for at least a century. hehe how can you say I'm making that up?

re the New Labour ID Cards .... like you said very topical but a tangent in this topic that you were forced down because your out of ideas.....read the topic header ...

Brown runs this country

Election is needed.

Yes Brown may run the country,
but it was the banks/financial institutions that ****ed us all over and left us in the ****!
Brown is trying to rectify the situation caused by greedy business men
There would be no difference/we'd be worse off if the Tories were in Charge.

An election will do nothing to solve this crisis

World war 2 pulled the united states out of the 1930s slump.. Which the wealthy slowly flilted through into europe during the 50s. The uk has been living on credit ever since and will have to, our future is with America and China, also China buying more debt from us which the united states have been doing for years! No matter which government we have they still have to play by the same global ball game, plus the Tories are in no fit shape to have a play... Could take 10 years for the uk to be out of this recession.
