My only objection to cannabis is the passive smoking aspect of it; you do feel the effects of it if someone else is smoking it nearby. However, I genuinely don't understand why it's banned, I've never smoked cannabis and I've no intention of smoking cannabis, but as demonstrated in earlier posts from Stu, alcohol is more dangerous than cannabis. Sure it can maybe cause health problems; but so can excessive drinking and excessive cigarette smoking; if people do these things in moderation then they're not going to be a statistic.

One of the arguments people use to keep canabis banned is that they say it is a gateway drug. In other words you will move on to harder stuff.

This may well be true as you have to buy from a drug dealer at some point in the chain. They will offer you ccocaine, smack, LSD, XTC and so on. If you bought your blow from a shop then you would not be offered the harder stuff.

I personaly started on class A and worked my way down to a point where I may have the odd smoke at a festival. Alcohol has been the one constant over the years and I am sure it has done me more harm in the long run than anything I may have experimented with over the years.
