...so many empty shelves at the supermarket yesterday, it really was quite sad...I only went for a few bits so I did get everything...but there was a lady there who had also gone for just a few bits and she couldn’t get any of them....she was tearful......

Greedy people and even greedier supermarkets, they should have immediately put a limit on essential items, without even going to the supermarket I know what will be short TR, eggs, flour, pasta, tinned and frozen stuff, soap, I will be raging if queues are back again

At least the Poundshop will still be open.
I like going there to get my cleaning stuff.

There have been no issues but apparently people went nuts when lockdown 2 was announced?

I'm going shopping this morning, I don't need lots as I've kept pretty stocked up since the first nightmare and did a lot of batch cooking over the summer so we have lots frozen but I do need pasta today and everyone saying its gone off the shelves. I will be mad if I can't get any.

...most fresh stuff as well...I noticed the meat shelves were empty ...and very little butter/cheese etc...I had actually gone for fruit mainly and got the ones I wanted but there was very little fruit and even less in vegetables...no potatoes at all...

Yes, I hope pasta doesn't run out.
I make it pretty much everyday.

Its greed AND selfishness and it really sickens me. It's annoying because we've been here before, we know the shops will stay open, we know they will stayed stocked so why are people doing it? I liked shopping last time when they only had a few people in and it was all quiet, gave me an excuse to leave the house and get some bits.

I’m with you ladies when it comes to seeing the sheer greed in shops.

When I see this i am truly sickened by the human race.

...I hope that supermarkets act quickly to allow specific shopping hours for essential workers and the more vulnerable etc and not wait until people are despaired ...one of the things that was different this time for me...is at the beginning of the last ‘panic buy’...although there was little left of some products, there was often something left...the more expensive brands, with the cheaper ones being bought ...but yesterday there was completely nothing on so many shelves.../...regardless of cost and expensive brands etc, everything had gone...

...anyways, hopefully you all won’t have similar...I had to shop later in the day on the last few times, so not the best time, either...earlier morning shops I think will be much more the thing and probably okay...

I'm going straight after the school run....will let you know! I'm hoping it might be different here as we've been under pretty strict rules with Tier 3 with a lot of non essential businesses closed anyway so hoping my fellow Mancs are sensible (don't know who I'm trying to kid, we've not been sensible which is why we were in Tier 3 in the first place )

If I go shopping I go just before it closes they are usually out restocking already at that time so it's quiet and I can get what I need easily.

Don't forget the smaller stores, corner shops and some garages have stock too if you are struggling to get things from supermarkets.

...the reason that I tend to do the supermarket more atm...is it’s now walkable for me ...so I don’t do ‘big shops’ anymore, I just get a few things that I’m able to carry and shop that way ...and using the car much less..but yeah, smaller shops as well is supporting local business...

I haven't experienced any stock shortages but I dunno if that's because it's not happening in Scotland yet, or because I tend to be in supermarkets later in the evening and they've had a chance to restock shelves as Kizzy suggests.

Certainly nothing like Spring when I couldn't get eggs for months .

There was an interesting segment on the London news last night, scientists from Imperial College have been swabbing the underground and buses key traffic areas after rush hour, bells on buses, hand rails, escalators, ticket barriers, etc have returned no virus evident for two months in a row so cleaning regimes seem to be working keep those masks on
