I have to say with regard to the above, he stood up in Parliament less than 3 months ago and said vaccine passports were discriminatory and that was not how the UK did things, a clip of this was played on LBC yesterday, so not sure how he can move his position so swiftly

not sure any 12 year old should be making a decision like that, and who do you deem competent and incompetent to make it

the vaccine minister seems to be a complete idiot, i'm not sure how the jab rollout went so well given he just seems to be plain stupid.

The vaccine provides protection, but it doesn't stop you catching covid so i don't see how having a passport achieves anything. A lateral flow test is completely hit or miss so it can't be relied upon for identifying someone who has covid. It all makes zero sense to me so I don't understand how the passport can be used as an entrance pass

The idea that a 12 year old is giving true informed consent is utter nonsense. They’ll do it if their pals are doing it, and that’s about as much thought as will go into it.

Yeah I am not getting why they are so keen to vaccinate kids as they can still transmit

Just stick two fingers up to them and tell them to "Sod off" if they come for your kids. They have no power unless you consent to let them have it. They're all mouth. They try to use fear. Just fart in their general direction.

For thee, but not for me.

Is Julia right about the house of commons? Or is the minister right?

My kids are a lot younger than 12 but if I had to make the decision they wouldn't be having the vaccine. I'm not completely sure why I allowed myself to have the vaccine but thankfully it went okay anyway. But they still don't really know the long term success of it and it doesn't stop us catching it or spreading it but it does lessen the chance if going to hospital I suppose. But after seeing the long term damage the vaccine has done to my brother in law I wouldn't risk a vaccine on my kis that could do long term damage when I know if they caught covid it's just them being ill for a bit. Its just too risky. I don't think under 18s should have to have one.

I fully expect with schools coming back and winter just around the corner we are set for a very bumpy ride and that will prove how effective the vaccines really are

i think Australians are right to be angry. They had the virus under control and if the government had vaccinated with a degree of urgency they wouldn't be facing the problems they are now

They made a big mistake by not getting on with vaccinations. They're really behind.

I agree. The risk on younger children is less.
I dont think they need ro be vaccinated.

On the graph below, you can see that the UK cases are very flat, maybe a hint
of increasing. It seems that Scottish cases have peaked now, and even a hint
that they are starting to come down.

I mean it is a clear incline (from 25k cases to 35k cases over 30-ish days) not flat but it's certainly not a "doubling every X days" situation. The Scottish cases peaking and looking like decreasing is interesting, as the increase was put down to schools opening but there's thus far no change in the situation there, schools are still open and operating as normal, so nothing in the schools situation to explain a peak & decrease.
