It is unrealistic but then again they can't have big characters just popping in and out of the show either :/

Barbara Windsor said on This Morning she wasn't invited back. Byran Kirkwood thought it would take the attention off Pat if Peggy was brought back for the funeral and he didn't want that. Yet another horrid decision he's made, not to mention it's unrealistic that she wouldn't attend.

Saddest episode I've ever seen. So glad Pat and Mo got scenes, I was really hoping they would. The whole episode was hard to watch but the finals scene was heartbreaking with the music. Kat and Alfie shouldn't have been in it though, they ruined the mood of the episode and both really annoyed me.

It seems a little rushed. They've known she's leaving for well over 6 months and they've crammed several weeks of potential storylines and scenes with characters (like Mo) into a couple of episodes at the end.
I still think it would be more fitting for a character like Pat to go living it up in Spain with Peggy. Then they could both make brief returns together at various points in the future. Writing out a lot of Eastender's history is sad but killing it off is stupid. Although, Pam St Clement was great in that episode. My mum was sobbing by the end lol. |

But, tonight, got me and my mother talking about how awful it must be to be told you're going to die. |

I'm more annoyed about them cramming Pat into her last few episodes instead of utilising her more whilst they had her if you know what I mean. |

It was quite an emotional episode tonight, and Pam St Clement played a great part.
But I too feel it seems ill thought out the way they seem to be rushing her decline through. |

I think you mean tomorrow because there's no episode on tonight.
I'm glad she's getting her own theme though, she deserves it. I was worried she wasn't going to get one but I'm glad I've been proved wrong. NYD's episode is going to be so sad. I'm hoping for a scene with Denise because her and Pat were close at one point and another one with Mo with her giving Pat the letter her brother wrote years ago. Just a shame Peggy isn't returning, I know BK said that he didn't want to bring her back because it would take the focus off Pat but that's a crap reason IMO. It's totally unrealistic that Peggy wouldn't return for the funeral. |

I'm recording it. I'll blub either way but if I watch it late I can blame a few New Year sherbets

The storyline with Pat is too close to home for me - I'm finding it unbearably sad. My younger brother went into hospital for tests at the end of last April for what he thought were gastric problems, only to be told he had terminal adrenocortical carcinoma, a cancer so rare that only 2 in a million people get it. He died mid July leaving our family totally devastated. The trouble is with a lot of cancers is that you don't get any symptoms until it's too far advanced for treatment.

Finally Pat is leaving so we can start concentrating on the much better younger characters

I hate young people in soaps, that's why I can't get into Hollyoaks. I like how Eastenders has always had the older characters.

Pat has been underused for years more like, she used to be at the forefront of the show in the early years. She hasn't been given enough to do, some of her earlier storylines were brilliant and she was a brilliant matriach character but they've reduced her to a pillar of the community type of character in the last decade or so. I still think she's brilliant though and a big loss to the show.

Aww thanks. Have only recently been able to talk about it at all. I think Pat's storyline will touch a lot of folk.

Alfie,Derrick & Phil are my favourite characters.
Fatboy would be if he was used more and properly.
