Even one of his friends ( fellow MP ) pulled his leg on TV last night .. he said he won a bet on how long he’d take to mention his time in the army ..

It’s apparently a running joke with all the MPs !!

I don't mind Tom referencing his Army connection.

Respect for our servicemen is and should be high.

He criticised heavily the government's actions on the withdrawal from Afghanistan which he was right to do.
Plus he has the knowledge of what the armed forces are often up against and wrongly put up against.

Leadership is important in the armed forces.
He's right to point out that out.

Truss keeps on about fighting Putin too.
As if she's out there on the front line.
