No more Charming-centric episodes!

As much as I like some of the departing characters, this radical shake-up really has increased my interest in the seventh season. One thing I've criticised the show for in the past is an apparent unwillingness to truly shake up the status quo in a big way so I'm definitely interested in seeing what the new era of the show looks like.

Yeah, Andrew J West is heavily speculated to be an older Henry. Quite a way from the role I associate him with (cannibal Gareth in TWD )

I don't think they'll be revealing anything concrete until after Sunday though.

I hope it works well for the show. It needs a revamp

Reading the American news sites and all the people crying in the comments.

I didn't realise Emma/Hook and Charming/Snow had such passionate fans.

I find both couples utterly boring and as for Charming/Snow, their individual characters have always bored me.

Snow used to be likable and she has her moments but I'd gladly sacrifice her if it means we don't get another dreadful Charming episode.

I wouldn't mind if Hook left either but I don't think that's likely due to all the thirsty housewife viewers. He should never have been a regular character.

Although, having said that, as much as I think Carlyle is the best actor on the show, Rumple does get a bit repetitive too.

Belle leaving should change things up hopefully.

Never connected with Belle tbh. I don't think she's a very good actress.

I thought she's always been wooden, even on Lost.

I liked Belle to begin with but the writers turned her into a ball and chain which killed any storyline variety that Rumple might have had in his story.

Watching the finale now. It's kind of a mess. A good idea behind it but it's a mess.

So Emma's Boston apartment has been sitting empty for six years?

I'm glad the show will no longer circle around Emma. Jennifer Morrison has looked bored for about three years.

I'm gonna miss Jaime Murray next season more than most of the regulars who've left.

I kind of hoped what with the way the finale was set up she'd be the "Regina" of the reboot.

Her death was so anticlimactic. But then most of OUaT has been like that.

Oh I had no doubt she'd be dying in this finale, would have loved her to continue on though. And I agree, both her death and her backstory was really underwhelming but I just loved Jaime in the role, one of my very favourite cast members of the show actually.

And as much as the writers didn't always do the Black Fairy justice, I have to credit them with something. Her pushing Henry down the stairs, then taunting him in his hospital bed by serving him the ashes of the OUaT book on a platter was golden. What a glorious BITCH.

I'm a little mad that they are continuing the 'story' after that finale. It was kinda perfect and should just end there.

Tbf, next season is a new story. So essentially that was the end of the first six seasons and most of its characters bar the 4 that will continue on.

I always felt like the season 3 midseason finale would have been a perfect ending, even more so than this finale (as much as I liked it). I always did prefer bittersweet conclusions to full-on happy endings though.

That said, I'm still happy for the show to continue on just because, while the long-term storytelling on this show tends to turn into a bit of a mess, I've really loved some of the spins they've put on particular classic stories and there are still so many more to mine from. Actually, I think OUaT would probably work even better as a collection of short stories rather than longer continuing arcs.

Did anyone else hear about this? http://ew.com/tv/2017/04/25/once-upo...sodes-answers/

I hope they still do it in the future for any characters they don't get around to revisiting in depth.

Yeah, if all of the "arcs" they've done on the show, tending to be half a season in length weren't all messily connected to longer arcs and characters stories they'd have probably all been a hell of a lot better.

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/once-up...chedule-slots/

The show's been moved to Fridays at 8.

Something tells me it's the network that has forced the bosses hand in the reboot.
They probably got wind that if they were to be renewed they'd be given a death slot because the ratings are on the slide so the writers thought right, let's wrap up the show effectively and just write a new plot in the new time slot.
