So I'm watching the show right now, They don't show the victim right away but I'm going to put who dies in spoilers

Spoiler:

Abraham first meets the bat, They tease killing Daryl and let him go, then Negan kills Glenn also with the bat hence the sobbing in the preview which is the opening of the show

Great episode.

I actually don't like Negan or find him that interesting judging by that episode, he'll be somebody who'll get focused on when I dont care about his background.

Spoiler:

I didn't find the episode that emotional though, I was sad to see Glenn go but I was non plussed by Abe going. I also thought the whole van part a little odd

Amazing episode and Negan seems like he's going to be an interesting character.

What a rollercoaster of emotions

When Abraham died, I was disappointed. Not because I like him, but because I expected more. And then Glenn died. I gasped. I'll miss him but I applaud the story decision to go ahead with it. Maggie is going to become so iconic as she tries to avenge his death.

I enjoyed it but (and I say this as someone who defended the cliffhanger), I do feel like the effect would have been greatest had they done the deaths in the finale when people not so familiar with the comics might not have been expecting it and not shoved a nearly 7 month gap in between. Also because I got sick of the waiting game and teasing I eventually just ended up reading a leaked summary of the premiere so I knew everything before I watched it

The fake out with showing Daryl's blanket in the opening and the "right hand man" stuff was annoying because this show is growing too fond of teasing big deaths and not actually going through with it (like with Glenn last season).

That said, Glenn's death was disturbing. I think especially because I knew it was coming, that whole scene just after Daryl attacked Negan really got my heart racing. Abe's death was a little less effective because it seemed like they were quickly getting that out of the way to make time for the main event but I'm glad they pulled no punches with Glenn's death (and as much as I loved Glenn, a Season 1 character had to die here. I wish it was Daryl but Glenn was the next most appropriate choice).

Regarding the death scene

I knew that they'd likely kill more than one person off but didn't expect more than one to die at the same scene essentially. I'd figure they'd kill off Glenn first as well.
