That encapsulates so much about modern life in just this one instance.

Booked a couple of holidays for next year. Greece for three weeks and then a week away in the Lake District.

Looking at Thailand in the new year too potentially.

…for the last few years since mom passed, we re-visit somewhere that holds childhood memories/significant time…with my brother, that is…there are two possibilities for next year that aren’t fixed yet but Lake District is one of them…I actually think that when I visited as a child, it was August also…and it was two weeks of August rain……but I still loved it, it holds so many memories/nostalgia…

I’ve worked out why we had more corner pieces (8 now). My OH didn’t realise the 2 bags in the box were separate puzzles and poured them all out. Now we’re doing two puzzles .

Honestly, it sucked the fun out of it at first when we realised hahaha. They’re a thousand pieces each. So needless to say this is going to be an evening activity for a while lol.

…I think that I would just take a breath, put it all back in the box and start a new puzzle….it would just make me sob to know where to begin…I mean, the edge bits would all be doable quite easily for both but after that…are the colour variations/schemes etc similar for both…can you separate many pieces apart by colours…?…

The puzzles are the picture on the box and also what somebody in that puzzle is seeing. So a lot of the pieces will be similar.

Spent the past 5 hours making and keeping an eye on my beef bourguignon. I’m so excited for it when it’s ready.

Daughter & I went out and bought some new socks and PJs together. Now running humidifier while I re-catch BB so I can actually properly listen to dialogue.

I have knocked down this one nest 7-8 times now and they wouldn't move out of the area, but I think their production is about to close up shop because they're not really working on the new nest anymore, just sort of hanging out. I knock it down when I work on the lawn, but most of our grass is dormant right now despite light watering due to a drought, so there's probably not enough food. It's still way too warm I think for any queens to go off to hibernate. Last year they didn't leave until sometime in November.

TX Senate, no, they're not up yet. US Senate, no one in our area. We have 17 propositions () up and most are Constitutional amendments (for State of Texas). There's also the local school districts and some of those trustee positions are up.

This isn't the biggest election, but with there being so many props on the ballot, I'd say it will get more turnout than usual. There's a a couple of special elections (one is US House) to fill Sheila Jackson Lee's old seat (US Congress/House) and now Sylvester Turner's former seat as he died shortly after filling hers.

It's very likely to go into a runoff because there's just that many people for it. It took me a couple of swipes to see them all. I'm surprised that the seat is on our ballot at all as we're no longer zoned in that district under the new map boundaries Maybe because it's a "special" election the voter map is already spoken for. I don't know how it worked out that way. I just vote.
