Neighbours actress Jackie Woodburne to star in new sci-fi comedy

Neighbours actress Jackie Woodburne will star as a scientist in a new science fiction series called Night Terrace.

Night Terrace is an eight-part audio comedy series written by John Richards, Lee Zachariah and the team behind the Doctor Who podcast Splendid Chaps.

Woodburne - known for her role as Ramsay Street's Susan Kennedy - will play Anastasia Black, a scientist who used to save the world as part of a secret government organisation.

Now retired and seeking a quiet life in the suburbs, she is left surprised when her house starts travelling in space and time.

Neighbours: Sheila Canning to become suspicious of daughter Naomi

Neighbours' Sheila Canning will become suspicious of her daughter Naomi after she arrives unexpectedly.

As previously reported, Morgana O'Reilly has been cast in the role as Sheila's estranged daughter Naomi who will turn up in Ramsay Street hiding several secrets.

Sheila is delighted by Naomi's appearance and is desperate to repair their damaged relationship, but soon finds it increasingly difficult to stay out of her business, especially when she becomes concerned by her sudden interest in art dealers.

While confiding in Susan over her doubts, Sheila reveals the reason why she believes Naomi hasn't contacted her in years - Naomi once had an affair with a married man and Sheila ended up contacting his wife.

Sheila later stumbles across Naomi's discarded sim card, but after she discovers her mum trying to reinstall the card to check up on her, Naomi is furious and accuses her mum of having learnt nothing from their previous fallout.

Desperate to make amends, Sheila later offers Naomi somewhere to stay until she gets her life back on track, to which she reluctantly agrees, but it is clear that Naomi is being far from honest with her mum.

It was previously reported that Naomi would test one of the show's established relationships after she sets her sights on another married man.

Kate is very definitely dead, shot in the rotunda next to Lassiters lake, but she managed to 'Do a Daphne' & mumble "I love you" to Mark before she popped off... They rushed her funeral (I guess so Sophie could be there) & now we have Paul & Brennan going round blaming each other...

For the above storyline channel 5 are to have a slightly different edit to the Australian broadcast episode, as they are under a strict 'G' rating & can't show certain things in its time slot, but they have not said what will be different in the UK episode

Pam (Sue Jones) joins her husband Doug in Erinsborough after hearing that he has been diagnosed with the early signs of Alzheimer's disease.

While Pam's family are pleased to see her, she soon shocks everyone by accusing Doug (Terence Donovan) of having an affair - convinced that this is the true reason for his recent bizarre behaviour.

Once Pam finally accepts that Doug has done nothing wrong, she struggles to earn his forgiveness after jumping to such an unfair conclusion.

Neighbours: Libby Kennedy to face problems with Ben on return

Neighbours' Libby Kennedy will face a testing time upon her return to Ramsay Street.

As announced previously, Libby will return for a three-week guest stint to celebrate 20 years of the Kennedys. She will be joined by her teenage son Ben

Viewers will learn that Libby has offered to step in as deputy principle at the school for a few weeks in order to help mum Susan.

However, her new role does not run smoothly as Libby struggles to discipline Ben, who has become a student at the school.

When Ben learns of Bailey Turner's problems with Jayden Warley, he decides to intervene, leaving Bailey mortified. Later, Jayden refuses to take Ben's interference lightly and hassles Ben, causing a fight.

Libby is forced to take charge of the situation, but when Bailey tells Libby that Jayden taunted Ben about his dad, who died years ago, she takes sympathy on her son and suspends Jayden.

Still forced to follow the rules, Libby gives Ben a detention, but when Bailey is blackmailed into changing his story, both Ben and Jayden are punished for lying.

The actor playing Scott & Charlene's son Daniel has just been revealed. He is being played by Tim Phillips...

HE has his mother’s blue eyes and is growing his hair longer in a bid to bring back his father’s magnicent mullet.

Australia, meet Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s TV love child Tim Phillips and Kylie and Jason, meet your boy.

The 26-year-old Adelaide-born actor has scored the biggest headline role on Neighbours since Bouncer was a pup — playing Daniel Robinson, the never-before-seen son of Scott and Charlene.

Set to make his first appearance on the Channel 10 soap next Tuesday (on April 29), Phillips admits he was too young to remember when his character’s parents wed — in an epic episode which made local TV ratings history and launched the UK careers of Minogue and Donovan.

But thanks to YouTube, the Animal Kingdom star has been getting a crash course on his grease monkey mum Charlene, while taking a closer look at father Scott’s sensational 80s hairstyle.

When that TV pairing drove off into the sunset in 1989, leaving Erinsborough for a life unknown in Queensland, the show had reached its zenith of popularity — with Minogue and Donovan building on the exposure to chase musical and acting stardom in London.

Now their TV son, Daniel will return on a roadtrip south, dropping in on his uncle Paul (Stefan Dennis) and reacquainting himself with the place his parents first found love.

“He’s just your happy-go-lucky, hippie-at-heart nature boy,” Phillips says of his new role.

“He’s not coming in with dark secrets, he’s not coming in with baggage, he’s just happy to be alive and soaking up life.”

After trying his luck in Hollywood for two years, Phillips has returned — along with his Kiwi actor girlfriend Jessica Rose — to take up the nice guy gig.

“He sees everything in a really positive way and it’s really nice doing that every day because that flows into your real life as well. You can carry that attitude home.’’

It’s a second crack at the soap for Phillips, who appeared as “figment of Paul’s imagination” seven years ago.

Official fan pages claim Daniel Robinson was “born in 1992” with a sister, Madison following three years later.

A “footloose, fancy-free, ‘I’ll sleep in my car’ kind of guy’ Daniel is poised to clash with his career-driven uncle, but not surprisingly the writers have “guaranteed” plans to find him a Ramsay Street romance.

“He’s a super loving guy and sure to fall in love with someone,” Phillips said. “I know due to the history and popularity of Scott and Charlene, I’m sure the writers are excited to find him a beautiful love affair.”

And once he’s grown out his hair, Phillips said there should be no stopping his alter ego, joking: “the mullets always get the girls.”

I really hope that after the 3 weeks that Neighbours asks Kym to come back for good.

Would like them to ask the actor who plays Malcolm to return for good too. But I don't think he will, but I do think Kym will return for good from reading her tweets on twitter.

I hope Billy will return for the 20th year of the Kennedys onscreen, even if it's for one episode.

I think maybe the actor who plays Billy might be busy to return to Neighbours but would be great if Billy and Anne and the rest of the Kennedys talk by webcam.

But would be a brilliant surprise if both of them returned for a episode
