I think the two performances which will be the most talked about are the Britney tribute and Gaga's performance. Maybe Adele if she manages to make some of the audience cry too.

No, hasn't been confirmed but been speculated a lot so I'm expecting a performance of some sort.

anyways award shows bore me so I usually just dip in and out. Or watch certain performances afterwards.

it's been confirmed Britney will be getting a tribute so they'll be showing her music videos and she's going to make an appearance. Also there are rumours that the current crop of popular artists will be performing some of her songs.

As for Gaga her performance has been much hyped with a variety of promos on MTV, there are billboards in NYC promoting Gaga's performance at the ceremony. Think she's performing a mash up of Government Hooker and Heavy Metal Lover.
