I like that a lot of Britons accuse the Americans of arrogance and ignorance in the entertainment industry.

The Situation has 1.2 million followers on Twitter. He's by far the most current celebrity in there. Of all time? Maybe not. Will the average Briton know who he is? No. Will the rest of the world know who Julie Goodyear and Cheryl Fergison are? No.

This is CBB UK though...to most of us Julie and Cheryl are more famous...

Also got 4.2 Million on facebook with about 15K people talking about him now....much more than anyone else in there.

He is not the biggest celeb CBB has ever has had ,but he is certinaly the biggest C5 has had.He may not be too well known in the UK but he is well known world wide.
My family at home in South Africa are watching online because he is a HM.

for the under 25 north american crowd, yes most def. the guy may be a loser but hes HUGEEE in america and hes current. not like half the dusty old bags in there atm. they need people like him to attract more younger 21st century viewers, lets be real. just look at twitter with all the buzz hes creating. great exposure for BB to the not so regular fans, will be interesting to see the translation to ratings over the first few days

He's certainly more famous than "prince" Lorenzo from the Bachelor, do they even show the Bachlor US in the UK?

I've never heard of him. In fact, there are only five out of the whole bunch that I've heard of: Julie, Cheryl, Coleen, Julian and Martin. The rest seem like a bunch of z-lists to me.
