i can see i am very negative but its because EE used to be the best thing on tv and how i want them days to return - but i just can not see this happening if they are not showing charectors and storylines that interest us.

I am sure that these are still BK's storylines?

Bianca is back in a couple of weeks and Dot returns in January, so that will be another two well known characters back. I think that the show needs another new family tbh, some new blood and characters to integrate in the Square!

Actor Khali Best has landed the role of Dexter and will be a new regular cast member for the BBC soap.

Best told Digital Spy: "I am delighted to be joining the cast of EastEnders and working with such great actors so early in my career is an amazing opportunity. I am really excited to see what the writers have in store."

EastEnders' executive producer Lorraine Newman added: "Dexter is a force of nature: cheeky, forthright, confident but highly protective of his mum and vice versa. He'll work at the Arches and be a great mate for Jay and Lola. I am sure he'll be hugely popular with the audience."

Dexter Hartman's first scenes will air in January 2013.

I hope he lives up to the hype. I like the Abi/Jay and Lola scenes and friendship.

Not long until Chryed leave at last. I will miss Christian but he and Syed are so tedious and overrated together.

I agree. I would bring back Shabnam Masood because I think the Masood clan are brilliant and I miss her lively personality.

The show needs new fresh characters and actors if given time to settle in!

I agree...the Masoods are the only family even remotely interesting atm, and even they've been wasted recently.

I like that Lorraine thinks that the show should not revive around one family in particular and that she hates Kat's affair storyline like the majority of viewers, glad Kat will be getting her comeuppance.

Finally Denise and Patrick will get their own storyline and I also like that she wants to inject more lighter moments in the show.
