Then he should say he didn't hear them, not that Dexter invented them and told everyone else to make Sam feel bad. There is no reason for people to lie about that, so by suggesting they are, he is basically telling Sam that those people don't like him.

Firstly He said dexter put negative thoughts in Charlie's mind about Charlie getting more boos than cheers. Which callum disagreed with, and said although she got boos, she should also focus on the positive.
Now Sam is a different matter. First of all callum and jack and joe said they only heard a women say Get Sam out! But then callum said there was a 3-4 second of no reaction then Sam got cheers. Whether he mis-interpreated those boos sam really got for no reactions is likely, because it just doesn't make sense. There's a massive over reaction here. People in the house always think they hear things and they actually don't, dexter thought last week he got a "get dexter out" chant when there was zilch of that. I mean the callum hate is real strong that its gotten to the point were if he drinks a cup of water, he gets slated. And ill always back him to the end cause i dont get the hate lol.

That comment had a double intention and giving Sam security wasn't even the main one, he wants Sam to hate on Dexter aswell, blaming Dexter out of the blue was ridiculous, Charlie told him what she heard, Dexter had nothing to do with it.

Sam doesn't need protecting, in fact he is probably the single person in there who can stand up for, and defend, himself.

It is not sort of deep meaningful friendship. They are house friends and probably know very little of each other in reality.

It does not surprise me Callum was over-protective.

Hmm I didn't really hear boos for Sam tbh, I thought there was just a bit of overlap between some boos Dan got, then Emma said Sam's name, the boos continued for a second but then switched to cheers. Maybe Callum thought this too?

Either way I genuinely don't think he is a bad (fake nice) person people are making him out to be. Even if he said no boos, to protect Sam, so what? it might not be what everyone thinks is right but it doesn't make him bad. He may just not have wanted Sam to worry all week on something not that important, since he got mostly cheers.
He either did what he thought was right to him or didn't hear any genuinely.

Also I don't think it can be compared to letting your friend go outside in an ugly dress/clothes totally different. Sam not knowing doesn't make a fool of him at all.
