I may be wrong, but your post about the person you know who is 'putting on' her depression came across much like that...

In that case, what was the point in mentioning the invalidity and such and that she acts sad when her medical comes round?

A Muslim once described my performance as Laertes is the classic shakespearean play 'Hamlet' as an 'unforgivable wooden tragedy'.

I don't think Chuff has an issue with people taking Meds tbh Vicky.

Me and chuff get on well outside the forum and she is well aware that I use SSRI's and has never taken issue with it. If she has seen people claiming ESA for mental health issues that they are in fact lying about I'm sure she would have reservations about 'some' people.

I do apologise to Redway and Kate if my comments caused any offence. Personally I have to be forced to take a paracetomol, and it would be my worst nightmare to have to take regular meds, I would go out of my way to find an alternative therapy if it were available.

Same here tbh. I take codeine but its not something I have to take all of the time, only when my ribs flare up. Can't imagine being dependent on anything. Docs would have had me hooked on antidepressants a few years back though if I let them..despite them not working for me at all they insisted I keep taking them at a high dose too

That was kinda my point even though I may not have put it across well, pills seem to be handed out like smarties by some GPs and are not always necessary.

Yup..unfortunately pills are the easy (and probably cheaper) option a lot of the time rather than tailoring help to people.

Oh dearie me. Let me translate. You mean me Chuff! Quelle surprise.

FYI. I have a genuine need for anxiety medication, it's trial and error getting the balance right as I have depression and GAD. (Generalised anxiety disorder).

I don't want pity, I was looking for any comments from people who had been/are in similar positions. Of which there are many from what I've read both here and in other threads at one time or another. Anyway, I had another severe episode this afternoon, hence I've not been on the forum all day to catch up with this.

Managed to see on call doc, apparently they think I'm getting too much serotonin so my meds are being reviewed tomorrow. This is the third time lol, hopefully we'll get it right soon please God! I take an SSRI (fluoxetine) and Buspar for anxiety attacks. 5 capsules a day, they are going to try reducing it slightly.

Hoping for a decent sleep tonight.
