I blame his stupid mother tbh. He seemed to change his attitude toward Marc after his mum kissed him. I didn't really understand why she did that either, because it's not as if Marc was particularly protective of Joel at any time before that.

It seems to have had an effect already, people seem to lump him with Marc, Helen and Showbiz. I do think his mum is partially to blame, she's super irritating on twitter and her 'thanks' kiss was cringe.
