What part does she play on Grey anotomy? I've watched four episodes on the recommendation of this forum. Have you read my little critique of it on the TV chat thread?

wow she looks so much better now imo. She is perfect. I don't critisise people for being a size 12 so i don't think people should critisise skinny people either, it's only fair. We all have out own idea of the perfect body and we will never agree

You don't criticise people for being a size 12? WTF?

"Oh my god.. I'm a size 12... I'm morbidly obese..."

Damn, I'd better just put my fingers down my throat now.. or better yet, kill myself because I'd rather die than be a HUGE size 12. Seriously girl, you imply that there is something to criticise about being a size 12. My bones don't stick out. I have a shape, and I do NOT have the body of a pre-pubescent boy. I eat when I'm hungry and exercise when I fecking feel like it.

What is with the national obsession with how much a person weighs or what dress size they take? Shallow much?

Hey... isn't size 12 a size UNDER the national average?

There's nothing to be criticised there. Infact, Linda... well done you're not several sizes under the national average and looking like you've just endured several bouts of chemotherapy whilst starving yourself at the same time.

There's a difference between criticising a size 0 model who has made herself sick to please agents of society, and criticising someone who is average (healthier than average, infact).

At the end of the day, I stick to what I've said all along. If you are born to be skinny then it suits you. I know plenty of people who are "underweight" but that is their build and always has been. Therefore what the stats say is really neither here nor there.

But, if you are built bigger than skinny, and starve yourself to become skinny, then I criticise. Because I think it's incredibly shallow (not to mention stupid) to put your health at risk for the sake of how you look.

I don't recall criticising anyone for being skinny. If you are skinny, you are skinny. Just like if you are tall you are tall.. short you are short etc. I criticise the people who strive for the size zero and basically don't eat or stick their fingers down their throat to achieve a "look", when there are tons more important stuff in the world they could be putting their energies into.

Get a fecking life FFS... stop starving yourselves! It will only lead to eating disorders so what's the point?

Of course it is not morbidly obese, there is nothing wrong with being a size 12 As i said everybody has their own opinion on theideal shape and yours is a 12, it's just not mine we can't all agree on everything. What if someone came here and said size 14 people looked like a whale and it was disguisting? Describing size 6 people as looking like a 'pubescent boy' is pretty offensive too you know. What if someone who is naturally really skinny read that and was offended? It seems only allright to be mean about skinny people

Linda already explained she meant in comparison to frame etc?
I think what we're talking about here is "models" who are not naturally that size and you can tell because of weight fluctuations.

Au contrare... There are more nasty things said about "normal size" people than there are about "skinny people". People who are above a size 8 are made to feel like they are morbidly obese. Fortunately I am confident enough to not care what others perceive to be HUGE or WHALE-LIKE.

And, as I said, I wasn't targetting naturally skinny people. You have to admit that people who are naturally a size 6/8 look a lot different from people who have starved themselves to get to that size.

I think everyones perfect size is different and what they feel comfy with is upto them. I think women see the average size as 16 where as teens think that is huge. Half of woman in Britain are a size 16+ and you can still be a bigger size and healthy. The lower the dress size doesn't mean the more healthy/fit you are its all down to height etc.

I think magazines which show these skinny size 0 celebs are worrying, because being size 0 is not an image people should want to be. Size 0 is unhealthy and doesn't make you look attractive at all imo. I have never seen a celeb or otherwise who is a size 0 and healthy.

Ahhh.. the voice of reason G.E.

I feel sorry for impressionable young girls who are not confident enough to just be who they are and who strive to be nothing but skin and bone with the notion that it's attractive.

Well, since we're on the topic of food and fatness - I'm off to make my dinner: Southern Fried Chicken and Potato Smilies (my culinary skills have not surpassed frozen foods yet... my parents make me do my own dinner now too LOL).

Looks aren't all that important... But, I think most (straight) guys would say curvey - as it is seen as more feminine.

I've noticed with a lot of these skinny celebs that their head looks very big now. Like in the picture above - Victoria Beckham is another.

But personality, how you act, how nice you are to people etc. will always be more important than looks.

I think the objection a lot of people have to the skinny = attractive idea is that it is the fashion industry - and what is fashionable itself - that has decided upon the matter and people haven't made up their own mind. The fashion industry has always favoured tall, thin models, not because they are more beautiful but because it is thought they show off clothes on the catwalk better.

Probably girls diet because that that is one area of how you look that you can control - you can't change your face (easily). It's really a kind of obsessive complusive thing - but I have sympathy for anyone who feels that way.

This thread is getting hilarious. All you ladies fighting over what is the perfect size. It's cracking me up. It's exactly what you shouldn't be doing.

At the end of the day there is no perfect size we are all born with a certain body type that naturally lends us to be either skinny, average or heavy set. It is no disgrace to be in any set but we need to be happy with ourselves. Each individual can be who they want to be but it's very dangerous to try and be skinny if you're naturally heavy set particularly if someone crash diets. The opposite is also true, it's dangerous to try dramatic weight gain if you're naturally skinny. It all about how comfortable you feel within yourself.

Ladies, stop bickering.

Girth (Change your name back please LOL), we're not discussing perfect natural sizes. Infact, the only person who mentioned the word perfect when discussing sizes was Gemma. We were referring to people who were not naturally skinny, making themselves skinny - just so they can fit into a category.

I know we're buggers aren't we. We get women to half kill themselves to look like what we deem attractive. It's hilarious.

Well give me a real woman any day. The thin woman, like the one on the left (from a famous modelling agency) in the picture below, looks like she has just been released from a German Concentration Camp in 1945. Give me the girl on the right with something to cuddle.

By the way the one on the right is a size 12.
