When it comes to protesters being violent, I have no doubts that it's the work of plants by China to undermine the protests.

Given what's come to light about China vivisecting muslims in concentration camps to harvest their organs, I hope the protesters keep fighting on. China is run by an incredibly evil regime that's made itself almost untouchable through it's trade power. It's quite terrifying really.

No! The press need to be there to record what is happening! Without the press the authorities will commit what ever atrocities they want to.

The presence of the world's press is the only thing that's protecting the people of Hong Kong at the moment.

I'm so concerned at what today will bring.

I can't imagine how horrendous it must be as a Hong Kong student at the moment, knowing that your destiny is to be ruled by China by the time you reach middle age, and knowing that your children will be condemned to a hateful future.

I wish the international community would do something to help Hong Kong to achieve total independence from China. Thus is surely a time when morals should come before money. How can the Western world stand by and do nothing to help?

How wrong it feels to watch this happening, and to witness their desperate requests for foreign support or intervention, fearing that their protests will ultimately be futile and in vain, and that they will be sacrificed to the Chinese authorities. The sense of helplessness is overwhelming and devastating.

Shot activist was an 18-year-old student - police

Sky's Alex Crawford who is in the Admiralty district
of Hong Kong says: "Police have confirmed
in an audio which they released to the media
that he was an 18-year-old student.

"According to numerous
eye witnesses - I spoke to one earlier who w
as at the scene - there was a scuffle.
There was fighting between some of
the protesters and some of the police.

"And, according to the official police version,
a warning was given - but it is certainly not
evident on the video tapes - before the police
officer draws his handgun and shoots
at very close range.]

["The police said the protester took the bullet in the left shoulder."]

I saw the footage on Sky today and played it several times in slow motion.

In fact, the gun was pointing directly at the protester before he tried to hit the cop's arm with the bar. When he did swing the bar the footage clearly shows that the bar hit the loose sleeve of the police officer, rather than his arm. Having played it in slow motion, I had to question if the protester aimed a blow at the policeman's arm out of fear because the gun was pointing at his chest.

The truth is, the violence on both sides is unpleasant to witness, and I'm sure that in those chaotic moments of stress and fear, instinct for survival wins out over thought and reason. In this particular case, I can, therefore, see the reason behind the reactions on both sides.

However, having said that, there is clearly evidence of unnecessary police violence emerging.

Sorry, Arista. I respect your views are different to mine but you need to back them up with facts. I've watched the footage repeatedly and played it in slow motion, and what you say here isn't truthful.

A female student has been found dead in the sea, She was 15 years old, an active protester and was found completely naked. She was also a capable swimmer who led her school's swimming team.

But let's pretend that the HK police force are being killed by these protestors although not one police officer has been reported as such. Gotta keep China happy!
