i do have a problem with him exploiting the wife killed herself aspect. That wasnt the fault of the watchdog, that was his fault for getting in a questionable position in the first place. I don't think anyone has an issue with him being investigated, the only thing under scrutiny is the process that the standards committee follows

Quits rather than face sanctions?
I thought it was decided there wouldnt be sanctions, and thats why the kickoffs happened So no, he quit because his backup plan of hoping to sail through with minimal fuss didnt work. So now hes trying to save face. Or Boris is. Given its ultimately down to him really. Plan backfired. Like with many other uturns.

Former Conservative Prime Minister Sir John Major has criticised the government's handling of Owen Paterson's case as shameful and wrong.
In a BBC interview, he said the actions of Boris Johnson's government had trashed Parliament's reputation at home and abroad, and were "un-Conservative". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59188972 |

Remembering Kerry

Quote:
Whatever MPs may have done before, they are all wrong if they've done wrong. This MP at the centre of this, had the Prime Minister, his Ministers and government setting out to use the power they had to cover and protect this said MP. That's a world away from what's gone before. A WORLD away. Although I knew soon, excusing this PM and detracting onto others, would come into play at some point from the Con supporters side.
