Do you have evidence to back any of this up or are you just relying on stereotypes again?
Like I say, I've asked about to see whether it is just me thinking I've never seen a straight man use poppers and a hell of a lot more other people have also said no, and have said its for gays and women. These people are largely ones I don't know personally or ones I do know but live in different places around the country.
I didn't think so. So you are basically just going on your own experience- that isn't evidence.

Once again I think you rely far too heavily on stereotypes to give the answer for you without looking at the bigger picture.

You seem to presume most stereotypes are more right than wrong but don't bother to look for the evidence to see if that is true or not. How would you know if this stereotype is correct for example without actually having any evidence on amyl nitrate use between men/ women and gay/ straight?

I’m also not convinced by your “I’ve asked loads of people all around the country that I don’t personally know and they say they are for gays and women“.

For a start, I’d have to take your word for it and without any evidence, I am sceptical and also, you say these are people you don’t know from all around the country- have you done a survey or what?! How many people were involved? 100, 1000, 10,000?! lol. Or is this just something you typed into a couple of sites and got a few replies to?

And also, you’d have to ask the right people, not just a load of strangers that don’t really know what it is. I seem to find a lot of the people that think it’s “only for gays” are the ones that don’t really know what it is.

When I said ‘evidence’ I meant perhaps a link to a survey or something looking at use of the drug, not just hearsay.

Do you have evidence? You have said you haven't experienced it and implied you only have word of mouth from people on here. Unless of course you are going to change your story now ...

Like I say, stereotypes are there for a reason. Of course there will be exceptions (which there are) but not necessarily many of them in the bigger picture.

I didn't make any statements such as "mainly women use them" or "they are mainly for gays", that is why I asked if you had any actual evidence to back this up, which you didn't so I am not convinced that is the case.

How do you know that stereotype is true if you have no evidence to back it up?

It would be nice to be linked to a poll or survey suggesting otherwise ... Otherwise I'm not convinced its that common in the bigger picture.

In the mean time I'll stick to my stereotypical views and views gained from experience and the experiences of (more) other people.

Experience and word of mouth.

Ok, well you have no real evidence. Stick to your unproven stereotypical views, that could easily be wrong and I will be more open minded until I see actual evidence.

If experience isn't evidence then I don't know what is.

Who's experience?! How extensive is your experience? Should I just trust any idiots opinion on the street just because he says he has 'experience'? It's a pretty poor argument.

Tell you what, I’ll go and ask one of my friends that has ‘experience’ and that will prove everything about ALL poppers users because of his experience?! If that isn’t evidence, you don’t know what is?!

Well you're fine taking experience evidence from people who happen to be for your argument

So you should ask people who know nothing about poppers instead for a more accurate answer of who uses them?!

To be honest, that wasn't what I was saying anyway, I was saying why should I trust your opinion over anyone elses? What experience do you have? You seem to misinterpret a lot...

Well you stick to them, and see how pathetic it will sound when using stereotypes to try to justify your views, not just on poppers and who uses them, but on most things. Also, it's pretty hypocriticial what you're saying because I remember you getting heated when people generalised chavs and put trackies and traines into the chav stereotype, yet you're willing to stick to your stereotypical views but when somebody has a different stereotypical view you don't agree with, it's completely different?

And your views aren't gained from experience, it's from complete lack of experience and knowledge of them.

LOL

Some people on here are so easy to wind up which was my aim, and it worked

But yeah you've caught me out

This is going to sound so contradictory and as though I've backed down but I hate generalisation

Just remember I was trying to wind you both up eh, and it worked

By the way its jogging bottoms not trackies
