Excuse me. I didn't realise I had to be dictated to about what I comment about. I am pointing out that he never said anything about children etc so don't be putting words into his mouth. And fyi I don't think it was a very polite way of putting things but I don't see why it should necessarily be deemed as racist.

When I think family I think children too .... most typically do. Yes there are extended definitions of what a family is nowadays but I doubt spike was being that nuanced. I wasn't puting words in his mouth he said "dirty scummy foreign families". Some thing that is clearly racist but for you seemed not to be worthy of noting in your post.

Calling a foreign family dirty and scrummy is not racist. If I called a white family dirty and scrummy, you'd have no problem with it, if I call a family who HAPPEN to be from a different race, then you'd probably think it was racist. But it's not.

Erm, you are directing me by making a point that I did not mention anything about your comment, which is not in context with the purpose of the thread anyway. It is a by product of the thread. People are allowed to stay impartial where they can see the points of both people and don't necessarily agree with either. Where am I "crying about someone disagreeing with me" as you put it? Lol. I have a family. My immediate family is my father and my sisters (all of who are over 40). Families don't have to necessarily consist of father, mother and children. THAT was my point. You were putting words in his mouth and as I said, I don't have to make a comment about YOUR comments, but you forced me into doing so.

Why don't you jump on the next person who posts in this thread and doesn't comment on what you have said.

fine but you also need to argue your opinion. Mine is that the a typical definition of a family contains children ...so I took the p*ss out of spikes story because the idea of a "family" trying to pick him up is funny. The idea that describing a foreign family as "dirty" and scummy" is clearly racist. He had nothing to go by when describing this family other than the fact that they were from overseas ... hence he showed himself for a racist. HE AGREED!!!! and said "yeah well I am but they shouldn't have tried to abduct me".

First of all, get your facts right again. He actually said "Well I don't really care, they shouldn't try and get me in their car". He called them foreign. Is foreign a racist word now? I was not aware, but hey, things change every day on what is pc to say or not.

Well I dunno it is likely to be construed as racist really isnt it when you say dirty scummy "foreigners"...perhaps he did just mean they were foreign and happened to be dirty and scummy! but when you put it all together like that it, it looks racist and is likely to cause offence.
