I predict 3.5 million for tonights eviction, it hasn't really been advertised much and Lucy and Ulrika don't seem to have big fanbases that will all want to tune in.

How envious I am at the moment of BB Germany, who having had record low figures for their first month of BB9 are basically starting again with a complete relaunch on Monday - same housemates, but new rules and changes to the house. The head of the channel has also been sacked, with the ratings for BB being the final nail in their coffin. Here, C4 just shrug their shoulders and say "well, it's never going to get as many as it used too!" and happily let their biggest programme die a slow painful death. It's not going to get any better next week because in their infinite wisdom they've decided the next eviction won't be until next Friday, meaning very little reason to watch the show over the weekend. |

Im really pissed off with the ratings!! After such a great start, it just went down ever since the nomination twist on Tuesday.
I predict, 3.5m in the 1st show and 2.9m for the 2nd show. But i dont really care about the ratings anymore, Im really enjoying the series, so thats all that can make me happy. |

I'm surprised rating aren't at BB9 standards yet because it is a good series. BB UK should be looking at what BB Germany is doing, but I get the feeling C4 don't care about Big Brother anymore and will let themselves be out bid for it when the rights are for sale.

1. How they have to afvertise more for the series 2. That you should never ever end a show 5-10 minutes early eg. on eviction nights 3. To get the Live Feed Back 4. Get new people on the team and create unusual tasks that have never been done before. and so on..... Hopefully if enough of us do that before BB10 start, hopefully they will get their head together. |

The thing which annoys me is C4 aren't even trying
The advertising is piss poor. The scheduling is laughable putting evictions against the soaps and the finale also against the soaps and Jonathan Ross' return. They insist on having 13 weeks in the summer when 10 is more than enough. Endemol isn't even trying to do anything with the format, its getting boring now. CBB6 was the last chance to get viewers back, looks like they have been lost forever now I feel the only way to gain viewers is to make the show completely different, maybe the US format would work here |

The reason for 13 weeks in the summer is because they can't be bothered to fill the slot with anything else. Personally, I'd be happy with them scaling the series back to 11 weeks, but for profits the other 2 weeks would have to go somewhere, so why not make a 5 week long celebrity series? It could definitely make for a more organised series rather than the rushed job we're going to get in the final week. CBB6 was probably their last realistic chance to win back viewers, and its kind of worked. It has so far had some of the highest rated shows in the shows recent history (as well as the worst) and I think it will beat the BB9 average, it will get about 3.7m or 3.8m with officials which is what I originally predicted. People are also talking about the show again, and the media are interested. They don't have to overhaul the format in the summer, they just need to buck their ideas up. I think they should go for a Sunday launch and have a week long twist ending on the Friday to keep the viewers hooked for the first week, and it avoids the first week eviction too. The format undoubtedly needs tweaking but I don't think it needs an overhaul. But the biggest change has to be the advertising campaign. They can't rely on the same system that started in BB4. They need something different that makes people want to watch, not want them to think they might watch it if there is nothing else on. |

BB9 was a great series, but it didn't get the ratings so I dont think tis got anything to do with the show anymore, people are growing out of it, and people watched BB8 which was crap, so didn't bother with BB9. I think the audience has been lost forever. |

The audience was lost during CBB5 before the race row, BB8 and BBCH were just poor and drove even more away, and BB9 was just unfortunate to fall where it did. The earlier series' (all apart from 2) averaged between 4.4m and 4.7m, and now they seem to be hovering around the 3.5m which is good for the channel, not so good for the brand. If they can sustain that for a few years then they should be fine, they just can't afford a huge drop again.

Nah

OK so that pretty much confirms BB is struggling more than we thought. I hope the producers will react but I doubt they will. I'm sure they'll find another stupid excuse not to change anything for BB10.

And just 2.2m watching on C4 itself. Never mind hitting the 4m barrier or even the 3m barrier, I'm now concerned it'll break the 2m barrier - next Monday the show is on at 8pm against Corrie and EastEnders - so expect ratings to fall even lower.

Just awful!
The only way forward is to sack the producers and being new ones in... or just move it to a different channel... advertise!! I heard a rumour that in BB10, the producers of BB Spain will be working along side the UK producers... i really hope so, because i know that Spain has a fantastic reputation on BB, just the same with BB Italy (Ive never watched Spain though). Change the launch into a more Big Brother Italy/Spain way. |
