Bit over the top haha. The UK song isnt that great... the only way we are winning this year is if ALW actually does play the piano with Jade.
Her performance in Greece a couple of days ago was 10 times better than the one she done on the live shows! The song has changed slightly too.. i think it is the best chance we have had for AGES!!
Sounds exactly the same to me, in fact. I preferred the live show version.

Eurovision.tv can exclusively reveal the first artist impression of the stage of the 54th Eurovision Song Contest to you. The impressive structure, which radically breaks recent Eurovision Song Contest traditions, has been designed by New York-based set designer John Casey and has been revealed to the Heads of Delegation of the 43 participating countries earlier tonight.

Casey previously designed the stage for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997 in Dublin, and was involved in 1994 and 1995 as well. "Even before I worked with the Russians on the TEFI Awards in Moscow in 1998, I was inspired by and drawn to art from the Russian Avant Garde period, especially the constructivists," Casey said to the website Livedesignonline.com. "Everything from this artistic time period - from the posters to the three dimensional constructions - has interesting perspective. The art presents an unexpected view or use of space. I've tried to come up with a theatrical design for the contest that incorporates Russian avant garde art into a contemporary setting, almost entirely made up of different types of LED screens," he explained.

A new era
The stage design for the upcoming running of Europe's favorite TV-show is one of the many signs that the Eurovision Song Contest is entering a new era. Last year, a second Semi-Final was introduced, while new rules made the outcome of the Semi-Finals more exciting and less predictable. Months ago, the European Broadcasting Union decided to re-introduce the involvement professional juries who will have a 50% say in the outcome of the Final. On top of that, the ambition to succeed in the competition seems to be bigger than ever across Europe, as many countries will be represented by their most popular, most successful and most experienced pop stars.

Stay tuned for more surprises in the lead up to the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest - you'll find them all on Eurovision.tv as we're getting closer to May!
AMAZING.
I'm such a geek when it comes to the logo and branding of the Eurovision. This years looks so much better than last years so far. Really modern stage.

OMG your so right about Finland's entry. I mean most of the songs I hear on Eurovision are like what I call "Eurovision" songs, which is a bad thing. But this one..is really catchy. I wish the UK would just realise that we don't have a chance lol I don't like our entry this year. I like Jade..just not the song. Even though I like musical songs, this one sounds like one and musical songs just aren't right for Eurovision in my book.

I love Finlands.

Also James, you'll be surprised but this years UK entry is tipped for success. Maybe not to win, but to at least come in the Top 10. Jade sang in Malta and she got a standing ovation.

hmmm well..i think people went over the top a bit about it being written by lloyd-webber and that other woman lol he's not really that type of song writer. he does musicals..not the eurovision. but maybe people will like it you know? i still don't understand why we have to keep entering unknowns, why dont we enter someone who people know and are good. btw im not saying jade isn't good.

I also LOVE THE FINLAND ENTRY. It's amazing and in my eyes can possibly be a winner.

Jade has also been a success in Greece, Turkey and Cyprus. My bet is that The UK will DEFENATLY not be in the bottom 5. They should be in the top 15

PLUS. Andrew Lloyd Webber will play piano on stage with Jade! That should get some more votes!

*Sticks Up Hand..*

I do. Proud of it too. I think its an amazing piece of comedy. People it might be slightly politically controlled but the UK have always sent rubbish songs with hardly no performances. People are also forgeting the UK came 3rd in 2002.

Remember TaTu.. The Russian lesbians..

Quote:
The opening act of the first Semi-Final will feature the winners of the 2006 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, the Tolmachevy Sisters. The interval act will feature Russian choirs, that will finish with t.A.T.u's song Never Gonna Get Us. The two former Eurovision Song Contest participants are not expected to perform themselves, but anything is possible..!

I hope there's some of these weird, slightly crazy entries from countries where you don't know what the hell they're saying but you still love it anyway.
