seriously andy... i can't get into the whole jaws vs deep blue sea thing cuz it's a totally redundant exercise. if you can't see the difference between a masterpiece and a by-the-numbers brainless thrillride then you can't be helped really

yeah, wolverine just didn't work and i couldn't take button..... couldn't believe that got all the oscar nominations when a great film like zodiac had been overlooked a year or two before. now thats a film

yes, it does have that kinda tone... never noticed that. it has that feeling of detachment and isolation that are always in his flicks, along with the simmering, manic presence: ready to explode. i love the uneasy, chaotic beauty that you feel with kubricks films. that you're close to madness..... tip toeing along

i find it difficult to get into the box set stuff. takes a concerted effort for me to dedicate that kinda time to one show. is it worth it?

but he did juggle that whole mix of horror and laughs well. it's very difficult to do- find the right mix. you have to give him a bit of credit for that. and for getting people interested in horror again
