At the Devil's Door (2014) AKA Home

This movie does not take long to start off, it actually got me of guard near the start of the movie,

As the movies goes on, it kind flows really well, it tends, to have right mix balance of decent creepy scenes and a few jump scenes , those scenes are really good .

I loved the power cut science was really good, a tad creepy and hospital scene with scan , loved that scene,

The only downside , that there were no ending to the movie, they did want to finish the story , there were no cliffhanger or anything , just ended with no payoff

The acting was decent not great

Really good movie 7 out of 10

Haunt (2013)

For me the opening part of the movie was very decent ,

there one decent creepy moments , near the start but as the movies goes
on

I was so bored by it , it never got me back into it , when those scare
scenes , were so bad, I actually thought they were funny.

I thing seeing the ghost so early on and far to many times , that the
creepy factor away, Far too boring and far to scarce less and a very
predicable ending

The acting was really good , the egoist effects were not at all, I kind
of find the ghost a bit cute lol , i am kidding

I am going to give 4/10

All Good Things (2010)

I don't know what to think of this. Extremely creepy film, probably the only thing I'll remember about it is Ryan Gosling in drag. Although funny at first, in certain shots was really scary. He played David Marks whose wife went missing in 1982 and they've never found her. Even when he's involved in two further murders 20 years later. Based on a true story and he still walks free today. Apparently chopping a body up in Texas isn't a crime.

Just overall frustrating plot, with characters doing frustrating things, the family sitting by allowing David to drag his wife out of a party by her hair, Katie sticking around with her abusive husband for cash to fund school. No actual explanation for anything. I like hearing these real life cases but for a movie I want them to flesh out the answers a bit more. The inclusion of the old man near the end confused me too. It's almost like they cut a scene somewhere.

Performances ok but it was just a lot of plodding along. Just reading up on the real case now and how he's got away with it is baffling.

Dalla nube alla resistenza (1979). Not good, don't understand why it's so acclaimed. 4/10

The Washington Snipers

on SkyMoviesHD.

Great film
true story
of the 2 blacks who did that evil shooting
2002.

It goes back 7 or 8 years
and finds out why they both got bitter about life in general
The man could no longer see his own kids
and had a mate with rifles.
The young man was from South America
his mother left him.

Tragic
but still no reason to go out shooting the public.

Great Film

10 Outta 10

Captain Harlock

Pretty to look at but it takes a bit too long to get going, when the story starts to pick up pace and get interesting it ends. Still an entertaining way to spend an afternoon though.

7/10.

For a mainstream film i actually really enjoyed The Hunger Games but i thought the sequel was even better. Some great actors giving great performances in both of them. Certainly a million times better than the Twighlight films (or the two i managed to endure anyway).
Granted, it was no Brazil but films like Brazil (aside from not being made any more!) just don't make enough money to get the backing of the big studios any more.
I watched a free download of Divergent and was really happy i hadn't paid money to see it. Thought it was dreadful personally. Kinda' like someone tried to make a budget film aimed at the same audience as The Hunger Games but forgot to give it an interesting storyline!

Such a fantastic and classic film from back in the day!!!!
Amazing to think it's nearly 50 years old now too! It's a perfect example of the kind of mainstream film that they used to make in Hollywood that managed to satisfy the Studio that made it by being really successful and the audience and critics by being a really well written script delivered superbly by brilliant actors and it's visually beautiful as well!!! They certainly don't make 'em like this any more sadly!
I just had a look to see what they spent making it and it was a hefty $6.8 million which was a huge budget for 1969 but it made $102.3 million at the box office!!!!! It's one of the top 100 grossing
They made a prequel in 1979 too but it wasn't great......at all!!! No Newman or Redford....recipe for disaster!

I re-watched (for probably about the 20th time at least!) 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' the other night. This is such an absolutely amaaaaaazing film, definitely up towards the top of my favourite films of all time!
I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan anyway but i think this film is a brilliant film in its own right, just as a general film and not only in the Sci-Fi genre.
I first saw this film when i was 6 years old when it was originally released at an outdoor drive-in cinema in South Africa (where i lived at the time), Midnight Screening with my parents and sister in the family Volkswagen, speakers hooked onto the front windows! At the time it was the best film viewing experience i'd ever had and i can't really think of a better overall experience i've had watching a film to this day! It absolutely blew my mind!!!!
I'm sure the majority of people here have seen it but if you haven't i can't recommend it highly enough! Even watching it the other night it stands the test of time so well and it still looks fantastic as do the special effects. It's just such a great story too! WATCH IT!!!!!
