I wish they'd put all the Irish channels on sky, it'd be quite cool to watch things like RTÈ,and they could put it in the international bit of the guide or make a special Irish section

![]() On the way to the showers, Michaela and Ieva were trading small talk about how some of the prison guards that ushered them in were quite cute. At a similar age, they seemed to hit it off immediately and felt the need to bond after realising that this prison was, curiously, housing both genders. Maybe they've finally realised that lesbians exist, Ieva smirked to herself. As everyone else around them showered, gathered their soaps and headed back to their cells there were just the two girls alone. In her watchtower, Livia monitored every inmate returning to their cells with half her attention; the other was fixed on a crossword puzzle that had been published in Tregard Magazine. The laissez-faire approach to inmate interaction was a new approach as part of the program: psychologists and politicians had lobbied for it under the impression that it would help towards rehabilitating criminals as a form of micro-society. Fewer guards around for the most basic routines - showers, meals, chores - was supposed to give the inmates the feeling they could be trusted. The whole idea was, of course, torn apart by the tabloids and right-wing politicians but after the austerity measures they introduced, just about anything liberal was going to win the election. In ICB Prison, Ieva had just picked up her towel when she thought she saw a shadow pass by behind her. "Mik, is that you?" she called, as she began to dry her legs. "What?" shouted Michaela over the running water. She didn't get a response.

![]() Michaela turned off the taps and grabbed her towel from the hook to her right. She began scrubbing her hair dry as she grew colder and walked into the main area completely naked. Cheeky. She couldn't find Ieva anywhere and assumed she'd gone back to her cell, when she looked up towards the only source of the light in the whole room - a barred window - and saw Ieva hanging from a series of pipes with her towel. Michaela screamed and frantically tried calling for help. Livia had turned on her personal stereo and Classic FM was in the middle of Strauss' Violin sonata in E flat. How gorgeous, she thought, as she polished off a cherry bonbon. Rather than leave her friend to die, and deciding to take things into her own hands, Michaela ran and grabbed a chair from the adjoining changing rooms and hurriedly climbed it to try and untie the knot around Ieva's neck. It gave way quickly, and she tumbled backwards onto the stone floor with an unconscious Ieva in her arms. "You should've left her," a voice stood over her and as she looked up, she only saw the razor in their hand. The killer lashed at her neck repeatedly and blood began streaming into the drain at the centre of the room. The killer made a hasty exit to their cell and disposed of the razor - after wiping its handle for fingerprints - in the laundry bin. The two girls were discovered half an hour later by a cleaner, alerting Livia and leaving the entire prison in lockdown for a week. Ieva's injuries were not too severe, and the initial impression was that she had killed Michaela and then tried to commit suicide out of guilt, but traces of towel fabric under Michaela's fingernails proved that she had been the one who saved Ieva. Something foul was afoot, Livia observed, and she knew that once this got out the ICB program would be kaputt. So she said nothing: a coroner was called to the establishment and Livia maintained that the body was that of a terrible accident involving a prisoner on the kitchen shift. But she wasn't done with the inmates: she already knew she had a couple of murderers in her company but she hadn't banked on one of them being active.
