What’s going on with the deaths and when did they move the goalposts to 60 days after a covid test and why

the death rate increase is now reflecting the Christmas/New Year abandonment of restrictions. It will be a further week or 2 before the death rate starts to go down

There were not any New Year abandonments of restrictions, most of the country were in tier 4 from Boxing Day.

Many , many people took liberties from about Dec 22nd until and including New Years Day ... Xmas shopping and visiting friends and relatives .. I think most people expected this ‘festive’ surge tbh

There was only one solitary voice in our staff room who thought that the ‘relaxed’ attitude would have no effect on things when we discussed things in mid December

Was going to hold it off but there are 13 people i know personally that have all caught it now so it just made it all the more real!

Nearly two million people in the UK have received their first dose of a Covid vaccine in the past week, government figures show.

By the end of Tuesday 4.61 million people had received their initial jab, up from 2.64 million the week before.

The government is aiming to offer a vaccine to all over 70s, the extremely clinical vulnerable and health and care workers by mid-February.

Matt Hancock told MPs: "We're giving 200 vaccinations every minute".

Sixty-five new vaccination centres are due to open in England on Thursday, including a mosque in Birmingham and a cinema in Aylesbury.

Testing in schools seem to be ramping up, my friend who works in a special school is tested routinely now

We ( staff) are now having two LFD tests a week after I complained that many other schools were having two a week yet we were only having one test ..

That said the tests are optional and a few won’t take them

Anyways you don’t HAVE to stick the swap down your throat.. you can put the swap up both nostril and twist it around for 10 seconds each nostril..

I’m thinking it’s better than swabbing the throat as many people aren’t going in far enough ( gagging ) or even wiping the right area !
