Cannabis can make you unaware. As if you were heavily drunk, but in some cases worse.

Not justifying weed, but alcohol is just as likely to do that too.

I know. And it is a known fact that alcohol is a bigger killer than cannabis.

I would personally never take drugs cause I don't want to and I think it's pointless but there you go. But people in this thread have stated that they tried drugs simply because they wanted to see what it was like. The people who take them, I think it's stupid but its their choice, if they enjoy it and want to deal with any consequences then fair enough. And surely you have done something ILLEGAL.

I have [strike]never[/strike] had a sip of alcohol. (It was Champagne and it was disgusting).

I have never smoked a cigarette, or even tried one.

And I certainly have never had any sort of illegal drug. Only drugs I have had a prescription, caffeine and painkillers.

I was kinda not sticking up for you as such, sitting on the fence really but there you go. And to drink alcohol isn't a bad thing, obviously if you don't like the taste then fair enough.

Correct. How old are you Firewire? 14 has been mentioned. In 5 years time I wish you could look back on this thread and see if you still feel the same way. I wonder if you will be going to the pub on a Friday night and having a few drinks with your mates. It would be interesting to see. Maybe the odd time you may have a few too many. Never say never or you may just become a hypocrite. To say "Everyone who takes cannabis needs to get a life tbh." is a bit harsh.

And, I would never encourage anyone to take drugs. Alcohol or otherwise.

You come over like a public service announcement, and people won't respect your point of view if you do that.

I'm not having a go at you twilight.. I'm just offering you some advice here. You want to know why people take drugs, then get into a discussion with people who do, or who have done. You don't want to take them, that's your choice, and I respect that, but you have to respect that everyone is entitled to make their own choices about whether they take drugs or not, and not everyone's circumstances are the same. People take different drugs for different reasons, and not everyone becomes addicted.

You have much to learn about this subject. You can't learn everything from a textbook. Obviously you are young (as is Firewire), and you won't know everything about life, but it's surely better to listen the opinions and experiences of others and respect that they make their own choices in life, than to come over like an anti-drug campaigner.

If you aren't tolerant, you're going to come under fire in discussions such as these.

Erm,only poppers ,if they count, when I was 13/ 14 when my friend brought them into school and we decided to sniff them in P.E.I diddn`t really understand what they were then and I don`t know any more now.It was stupid but I was young and foolish,I just remember having a head ache and feeling dizzy.I`ve never tried anything else,not even dope.I don`t personally see the attraction but each to their own,I don`t judge people who do drugs,makes no difference to me.I would however have a problem with it if it was a close family member or my bf.
