But at 18, you are still depending on your parents for support right?
Because you do feel the need to ask your parents how to put a condom on or getting support for this matter ? You're well aware of what you're doing at 18, on this matter I mean.

It also depends on the circumstances. If it wasn't during the circumstances I described above, I don't think I would have had it so it depends on a lot of things. It was an opportunity to take.
Under no circumstance that children should be having sex.

In the UK 16 is the legal age mate.

So your saying that it should be illegal to have sex under the age of 18? Even if that is the case then people will carry on having sex underage anyway. It being illegal doesn't do anything.

There are 150 people in my year at school and I could probably count the people who have Sex on one hand.

English people have sex way too early for their own good.

I'm 16 and i'm a virgin, and proud.

Yeah, sex is fun and whatever, but it also comes with a responsibility.

If the 14 year old that’s having sex conceives a child. Who is going to take care of the kid? The teenager’s parents, I’m assuming? That’s just not fair to the grandparents. Or the teenager is going to have to drop out of school to take of the baby. Now his/her life is completely ruined.

STDs are another problem. There are just a lot of valid reasons why kids shouldn’t be having sex.

Surely most people having sex at that age will think of the consequences first?

14 is, I found that out myself, but 21 is way too old. I'm not even 21, very sexually aware and have been more than ready for a couple of years.

I'm rather amazed at how you tend to generalize things. I don't know in the UK or in the US, but contraception is being massively advertised in France so I thought about my health before doing anything.

That's why 21 is the good starting point. You are able to take on the responsibilities that comes with sex.

You are no longer depending on your parents for anything.

You should have good understanding of right and wrong.

You should be mature at that age.

At first I thought 18 was the right age, until I was maybe 20 and realized how immature 18 year olds really are.

It's not because you reach legal age that you'll be more mature or more aware of things. The legal ages defines a line of responsibilities but then being mature isn't the same for everyone.

So you are telling me 13 and 14 year olds? Are old enough to handle the responsibilities that comes with having sex? Just when they are hitting puberty and depend on their parents for everything?

Okay.......

I haven't depended on my parents for anything since I was 17.

I already do have quite a good understanding of right and wrong, and I suppose maturity comes with that (I can be when I want to be )

As long as you accept the risks/know that using something still won't definitely prevent anything, and you're prepared for the worst then as long as you're ready I think its fine. And no matter how high the age is, people will do it anyway.

I think 17/18 is the right age. Anything below is stupid (even though I was sexually active in them years and in hindsight I was very stupid/naive about it)

I'm 15 and proud to be a virgin :3

There are 2 sets of people in my school, people from my village and ones from another.

I could count the people in my year from my village who have had sex on one hand.
I could count the people from the other village who haven't has sex on one hand.

It's such a big difference! One of my best friends (Non of my friends were in my drama class... so I had to mix with the others lol) lives in the other village, and has been pregnant 3 times, that she has told me about, and God knows how many times ontop of that :\
