I have no clue what is going on with John and Josie, I suspect that John is working to a system he devised (as far as poss.) while doing all his research on BB, UK and Australia.
He told Josie 'If you knew the truth about me, you'd know that Im the same as Mario' ... this was a response to Josie saying that Mario gets wound up because he is desperate to stay in BB because he'd been trying to get in for 10 years.
I don't think Josie planned on a romance (but then who does for sure) but I do think she is very pretty ... as far as her size is concerned I think its hilarious that so many people feel free to criticise Josies weight from behind their curtain of privacy, wouldn't it be fun to see just how stick-thin (or otherwise) they are!(incidentally, I've always been between 7.4 and 8.10 .. altogether too skinny for my liking) I thought this Country was getting past those type of judgements, I think its all the more sad when grown women do it .. they should be ashamed of themselves!
Some Josie haters seem to revel in throwing all kinds of nasty accusations around about her .. the way she looks, her motives (re John) ... every aspect of the Girl they can think of, to Insult! They become abusive when challanged and assume that THEY 'know' (whats going on in Josies head and so on)...
It makes me feel like voting for Josie to win purely because so many have been so utterly vile about her, I really wish they would get some perspective wether they hate her or not, it would be really nice to have some of these 'adults' set an example instead of ranting and becoming abusive on topics they disagree with.

The reason people keep on about her size, is that she is so insistent that she is a size 16 when she is so blatantly NOT. We are not blind, and she HAS definitely put on quite a bit of weight in the house. The fact she is fat is not the point, it's the blatant denial of her fans, when she so clearly IS. JJ can barely hide his repulsion when she wants to be more intimate with him.

Personally I don't think how fat or thin a person has much to do with their personalities ordinarily, but in Josie's case her bone idleness and slothful ways are a major turn off and it is logical that people will associate her permanently horizontal state with her corresponding increase in girth.

What I am saying is that Josie is SO obviously not JJ's type, which according to his friends and his own mum, are stick thin model types. So what exactly IS he playing at, as if we didn't know? Someone so obsessed with their own looks is usually equally vain about the looks of the girl on their arm.

As to Josie's "personality", she can at times make some funny comments, but mostly she is extremely boring, particularly when she spends so much time lying in bed, or slopping around the house wrapped in a duvet or sitting on the bench smoking herself silly. As for her thumbsucking, she barely gets away with it aged 25 years - just imagine her when she's 40 or 50 with her thumb still stuck in her gob - it's revolting to look at. I have not found her or JJ remotely interesting and if they had gone earlier in the show I would not have even noticed or cared.

As well as being a real bitch at times and being two-faced about the other hms, she is immature and acting like a teenager! It is embarrassing. At 25 with the job she has - she should have more to offer to the house than fawning over the token good-looker! She seems to want an easy ride!

It isn't about her size - but people cannot help but mention it at times when her lazy behaviour is clearly a factor in her being the size she is! It has more to do with a disapproval of her chosen lifestyle and resulting size, which is clearly self-induced - than about her size per se!

Why should people sympathise with her, when she feels sorry for herself and complains JJ wouldn't look at a girl like her - when she has chosen to be that way! Many other women who are slimer and look better, do so because they make more effort and work at it!

Shouldn't your question actually be - why should we like her? What has she done to deserve to be liked?

Wow, thanks for a reasoned argument. I can ofcorse see what you are saying and agree (not to mention chuckled) with most of the points you make.
She hasn't done herself any favours under that duvet and I'd agree she is being conservative about her dress size.
What I can't understand is the level of base, sometimes crude remarks levied at Josie, about every aspect of her character which are usually follwed up with worse, when people (sometimes youngsters) disagree ... its excessive and presumtive.
My take on the John/Josie matter, is that John is the leader .. I've never really had much time for Josie but I honestly think she just fell into it (JJJ)
In response to a post I made on the subject recently, one member insulted me, accusing me of being stupid etc ...so I deliberatly made pro-Josie comments (could have been anyone that particular member supported) in other threads, just to see(curious) how far this member would take things. Quite honestly, it was a disgrace .. this persons abusive, insulting remarks about Josie and to Josie supporters were the most degrading display of manners and decency I have seen for a long time.
Obviously, reading all the posts within several threads about Josie, I saw that there are lots of other really nasty, unessesary perceptions attributed to Josie and presented as Facts ... many were unfair and cruel.
In the main, as I have expalined ... I'm not a fan of Josie but I hate that kind of attitude.
Incidentally, I think you've summed Josie up ... its pretty much how I see her!
