I really would rather hear nothing about this until the body's confirmed as hers and he's been arrested (I know he now has, but there were 5 pages of this before that happened )

I just worry sometimes about the morbid curiosity of the world. That some people will stay tuned to Sky News scouring the screens for any morsel of news and updates about a tragedy... it just breeds ill taste. And it makes me laugh when people then get up in arms about phone hacking. These journalists go rooting through trash without respect or dignity for a reason: supply and demand.

I am reserving any judgement or comment until details have been confirmed, but most people are interested in the story with a view to a positive outcome. Unfortunately it hasn't on this occasion, and I know it has not been confirmed that the body found is Tia yet, but it's highly unlikely it's not. I understand what you are saying though.

I thought it had now been confiirmed? Although I can't see it being anyone else's now. Such a very sad outcome though

The newspapers like to make a mockery of the police. Fact is that it isn't the police but the British press who are a bloody disgrace.

So sorry to hear they found the girl's body. I was hoping they were going to find her sulking at a friend's house or something. Poor little sod...

I don't know why Arista is being got at in some posts. I am glad Arista is posting updates. I am very interested in the news on this, as I was hoping and praying the young girl was found alive. Now she hasn't been I want to know why that evil sod did what he did and if others were involved and most of all, what punishment they will get for it.

I am also wondering what has happened to Tia's mum? Another mystery? Was she involved? or did she find something out and that's why she has now gone missing?

Some people just find it in bad taste how in some cases like this looking for articles out of interest has a tendency to turn almost into a morbid excitement and scramble to post every single little picture opinion and quote they can you could almost sense how excited some people posting 3-4 times a minute were. :shudder:

I notice all the comment sections on the newspaper articles have been shut down on articles relating to this case "for legal reasons" and digital spy have deleted and banned any new threads on their forum relating to the discussion of this for legal reasons.

Its a horrible tragedy and people acting as judge jury and executioner within seconds of a story like this starting to break isnt the most helpful thing.

I'm rather annoyed at the press slant being "look how ****e the police are" rather than "omg this is a disgusting tragedy that poor girl".

If it came to the point of her dying, imagine the kind of abuse she must have been suffering long before it got to that point. at least her suffering is over now. horrible tragedy. Everyone involved should never know freedom again, this young girl never knew freedom.

Police investigating the disappearance of 12-year-old Tia Sharp have arrested a man and a woman.

Tia was reported missing on 3 August, sparking a huge search effort in Croydon, south London.

A body, which has yet to be identified, was discovered at Tia's grandmother's house in New Addington on Friday.

Stuart Hazell, 37, who is the partner of Tia's grandmother Christine Sharp, is also being questioned by detectives on suspicion of murder.

Police revealed a 39-year-old man and a woman aged 46 were also arrested on Friday.

They are being questioned at a south London police station.

Just reading a DS thread on this as Tia's Gran is 46yrs, so wondered if the woman was her and the 39 yr old the uncle. Someone posted the following tweet. This just gets worse

#Twitter @skymartinbrunt #tiasharp Tia's gran Chritsine Sharp arrested on suspicion of her murder

@skymartinbrunt A amn, 39, arrested on suspicion of helping an offender

Edit: Just seen on sky news that the 39 yr old is their neighbour Paul Meehan

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...#ixzz23Fzl7zSS

Police have now given media a statement.
ITVNews just said its maybe one or two officers
that failed , not the whole team.

That's like saying a building collapsed because just a few support columns failed, not the entire building. well who the hell cares? the whole building still fell down.

especially in this type of case, the family should always be the number one suspect. And this is not a family with a stellar reputation.

Just looking at their pictures you can see that these are not the most upstanding citizens in the UK. They literally look like people that even Jeremy Kyle wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Can't believe the police missed it.

I agree with you overall in what you are saying lostalex.

It is an awful thing to have to say these days.
However my first thoughts too when I knew Tia was missing was I hope they really check the family out first, recalling the Shannon Matthews case we had too.

It is unbelievable so much has been missed for so long. These cases make me really angry.

What an evil git he is, all those lies, wearing that T shirt, supposedly searching for her, when all the time he knew she was gone, that goes for her Gran also, the Gran is almost as bad imho, as that child was her flesh and blood. Poor girl, having her life snuffed out so young, because that git thought it was his right to do so. I get so upset at such crimes and feel so very much for the poor victims and their family and friends

Yes this shares a scam
those T-Shirts
made fast to divert away from the home.

If she had gone into town
CCTV would have tracked her.

So it would have been the Woods
or the home.

Its sad that the parents could not have the girl
as going to the Grand Parents led to fights
and Death.

Lightbulb Tia Sharp murder accused Stuart Hazell remanded

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-19240104

Quote:
The man accused of murdering schoolgirl Tia Sharp has been remanded in custody after appearing in court.

Mr Hazell, 37, appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court via video-link from Sutton police station.

Although police are still waiting for formal identification of the body found on Friday, the victim is named in the murder charge as Tia.

No plea was entered to the charge, which accuses Mr Hazell of murdering the girl between 2 and 11 August.

He confirmed his name, date of birth, and address as The Lindens, New Addington, where Tia was found dead.

Mr Hazell will appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, with a further date for a preliminary hearing recorded as 19 November.

Christine Sharp, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 39-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have both been bailed to return to a south London police station in October.

A post-mortem examination on the body found in Ms Sharp's house was halted on Saturday night and is expected to recommence this week.
Meanwhile, it has emerged the body was found in a black bed sheet in a black bag in the loft of the house.

Lightbulb Tia Sharp death: Merton Council in serious case review

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-19256569

Quote:
A south London council will conduct a serious case review following the death of Tia Sharp, who lived in the borough.

Merton Council will conduct the review, done after the death of a child where abuse or neglect is known or suspected.

Serious case reviews, undertaken by Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs), examine the role of local agencies - including social services - in the welfare of the child who has died and their family.

Ged Curran, Chief Executive of Merton Council, said: "The Local Safeguarding Children Board will now commission a serious case review, the standard procedure in a tragic case such as this.

"The review will be assisted by the police, health services and local authorities."
