I don't think anyone is saying Helen is without flaws, they are saying they see things in Helen that they DO like, irrespective of the flaws. Bringing up flaws as an argument isn't going to change anything

People get paid quite a decent allowance to foster children.

They have to pass pretty rigorous assessments by their local authority to be deemed fit however, but I don't think you can spend money to bypass that process as far as I know.

It may be considered charitable to want to foster however, but it isn't going to necessarily involve spending any of your own money.
